Who: opal and you!
Broadcast: text
Action: on the goldstone if you're so inclined
When: post-shuffle
[The message gets sent out fairly late at night, once she's absolutely sure. She's known about Kaito for a few weeks, but she wasn't inclined to notify everyone when it was just him departing. Now, though... In some ways, it cuts deeper when she realizes who else has left.]
if anyone was friends or whatever with aoko nakamori or kaito kuroba, they both left the fleet at some point. guess it makes sense they'd both take off within a few weeks of each other, they were kind of a package deal.
anyways, that's all i really had to say. sorry for the bad news.

[ his failed miserably at it and he's gotten the feeling that hers wasn't brilliant at it either, but it doesn't mean they can't do better. ]
action;
[A pause, before she glances at him.]
I guess it's probably the same for you, huh?
action;
We work it out together.
action;
What if you leave, too?
[Her voice is low, and she chews at her bottom lip. Really, the fact that she's voicing this worry at all is a testament to how much she trusts him.]

I can't tell you that I won't. But, I can tell you that if any part of me remains aware of this fleet I'll find my way back and without this augment, it'll be a lot easier to break this place. If we're going worst case scenario, though...there are a lot of good people here, people who would be happy to help you. And you'll always have the memory of me. When I feel lost, I think of the advice Margaery's given me over this year. When I feel sad, I think of Pinkie Pie's optimism. When I feel lonely I think of Sascha's invasions of personal space. [ he laughs lightly, he used to kinda hate it. he would give so much to be able to hug sascha again, now. ] Just because they're gone from the fleet doesn't mean they're gone from my life. The memories we create here are going to keep helping us through.
Re: action;
Do you ever wonder if it's a bad idea to get close to people?
action;
Been there, done that, it's not all it's cracked up to be. You don't have these sharp pains when you lose people, sure, but instead you're just in constant lonely misery. Everyone I met here has made me a better person and even if I can't take my friends back with me - that's gonna stay with me forever.
action;
How much did I tell you about the place I was in before this? I'm leading to something, promise.
action;
[ he's close to a group of people who have been there and yet that's about all he's got, yeah. ]
action;
[A shrug, as she puts her spoon down.]
Okay, this explanation is going to sound really weird, so bear with me here. All of us who were there came there without memories, and sorted into teams like you said. Each one had a team dormitory, and every dorm had this group of mirrors in it, one for everyone on the team. Every memory you won back was in the form of, like, this glass shard? So, you put in the shard into your mirror, you remember something new. Only, the entire team would get them back at the same time, and there was no way to tell which piece of glass belonged to who. You wound up learning a lot about each other really quick, whether you liked it or not.
Does that, like remotely make sense so far?
action;
It's like a gradual limited version of planet Touchy Feely.
[ and just strengthen his conviction that all these places are connected. ]
action;
There's one person here who was on the same team as I was, but the rest I haven't seen since I got here. I mean, I passed out for a few weeks a while back and remembered more that had happened there, but - you know.
[Idly, she swings her feet back and forth under the table.]
Sometimes I worry that the same thing's going to happen again, you know? That I've gotten to a point where there are people here that are really important to me, and then tomorrow I'll just - wake up somewhere else far away. [She runs a hand through her hair.] I don't know. Maybe it's stupid.
action;
but the most important thing right now to him is opal. his hand slips down her arm to find hers and give it a little squeeze. ]
Stupid is the last thing it is. But I know - I know - that we're gonna get out of here someday, there's no such thing as a perfect system. This? Holding us? They can't keep it up. There's a chink in their armor and we're going to find it, and if you're not here when it happens? Nightingale and I will rip the multiverse apart to bring you home. You're important to people here, too, and we're never gonna give up on you.
action;
Sometimes I wonder what I did to deserve that.
[She takes care to make sure it comes out sounding more casual than what she's been saying for the past few minutes. There's even a bit of warmth in it.]
action;
You're you, that's all it takes.
[ he'll try to coax her into a hug but if she doesn't willingly respond, he'll let go and go back to his ice cream. ]
Re: action;
...Thank you. You know I'd do the same for you, right?
