[Velvet had woken up in one strange tin can and had only just started to get her bearings when she was suddenly transported to another strange tin can. This isn't how she was expecting today to go.

She stumbles a little but manages to catch herself, oblivious to the fanfare that signals her arrival.]

Where--?

[She takes a moment to steady herself, shaking her head to clear it. She blinks, focusing on her surroundings, trying to make sense of things.]

...Is that pudding?

[Where does pudding fit into all this? And that's not even mentioning the confetti. Actually she hasn't even noticed that yet, or the fact that a lot of it has fluttered into her hair. She looks pretty festive for someone so cranky.]

[ And, without pause, he moves over so he's draped on her shoulders. ]

[She kind of freezes and there's this internal record scratch moment where she tries to figure out what is going on, why is there a shirtless malak draping on her. Why is touching happening.]

What are you doing?

[ Zaveid just beams, because he can. ]

Hanging out with an old friend.

[After she recovers from the initial shock, she shoves him. Hard. Trying to put space between them. The response is actually more borne from concern than outright rejection, not that she'd admit it outright. Either way she's irritated, though.]

Don't. I can't always control how much malevolence I give off.

[She's an angry, violent person, but she likes Zaveid well enough. She doesn't want him turning into a dragon. Especially not because of her.]

[ Zaveid makes an oof sound, stumbling back and huffing a noise before he holds his hands up in surrender. ]

Jeez, warn a guy, Velvet! I'm safe, anyway. I've got someone checking up on me.

[ He has a pure Shepherd keeping an eye on any malevolence he might end up by. ]

[She huffs, a little frazzled still, and maybe feeling a bit awkward but not wanting to show it too much. She raises an eyebrow at his words.]

You mean like a vessel?

Yup, just like that.

[ No comments on how his vessel is actually a person, though. ]

[Except he did say he had someone checking up on him.]

Is it that kid who told me to be nice to you?

[ Shhh.... He plays it off with a hum, scratching at his jawline. ]

Jeez, did he say that? Damn, almost like he's my dad, right?

No, he didn't sound like anyone's dad.

[ That makes him laugh. ]

More like... An enthusiastic kid?

Yeah, that sounds about right.

Yup, he's kind of a goody two shoes. [ But at least Zaveid is smiling. ] He's a good kid, though.

Yeah, he seemed pretty inoffensive on the communication...thing.

[She'll figure out the words for all the weird technology in a couple of days, but right now it's all new.]
