Who: IT'S A GAME MINGLE GET IN THE VAN
Broadcast: If you want!
Action: All of it!
When: Second half of the month.
[hey everyone! how's it been going? how's medieval-fun-time-world treating you? anyone pillaged and burned anything yet? got kicked out of the castle? been planning expeditions? registered for jousting? busy angsting for the last two weeks on your ship?
this is a mingle for everybody, whether they're hiding in the volcano, out and about in the city, or up on one of those random random stations where you can get quirky souvenirs.]

in town / outside the walls
[ Steffa is spending most of what time she spends in town in the training yards, breaking in the two bows she managed to scrape up for. She doesn't have a quiver for the handful of arrows she got, but that's not the important part.
The important part is getting back into practice and making sure the bows fit well in her hands: the rest can come later. ]
outside the walls
[ Later is outside the walls, where she's practicing with solid tree branches trying to make the kind of magical focus she wants. Sure, one of the other mages from Thedas (of which there seem to be many in their fleet) could tell her better how to go about this, but where's the fun in that?
Not causing small (but LOUD) explosions when it goes wrong would be fun, admittedly, but she didn't get any splinters that time! Time to try again! ]
in town
Would you not be more comfortable with a staff?

What, I should only rely on my magic to protect people? [ she shakes her head ] Anyway, I used to have a bow that was enchanted to work as a focus, much like a staff. I'm hoping to be able to recreate it, but I still need to stay in practice either way.

[Huh, but that's...something. ] I have never seen such a thing. The mages in Tevinter were all about the staves. They liked to make a statement.

At any rate, a bow's useful in ways a staff isn't. Being able to actually use one saved my life more than once.
