[hey everyone! how's it been going? how's medieval-fun-time-world treating you? anyone pillaged and burned anything yet? got kicked out of the castle? been planning expeditions? registered for jousting? busy angsting for the last two weeks on your ship?

this is a mingle for everybody, whether they're hiding in the volcano, out and about in the city, or up on one of those random random stations where you can get quirky souvenirs.]

[ She's yet to meet Tony Tony Chopper. Possibly for the best?! ]

Then if not for rank, what purpose does it serve?

[ She looks surprised ]

Really? What ship are you on?

... Honestly, I have no idea. It's not like I have no experience leading a team or anything, but there has yet to be a situation where we've needed it, so ...

That would be the SS Caprine. Ah, but perhaps I've simply not been here long enough to be graced with their presence.

Not even in the operation of our ships? Or mediation of disputes?

Oh -- if I remember right I think Tony is in charge of that one. He's probably just been on the planet since you got here.

The ships run on auto-pilot whether we do anything to them or not. And ... nobody on my ship has really had a dispute with each other, so ...

Tony? Then I shall keep that name in mind.

Auto-pilot... [ It isn't an unfamiliar term, but still startling to realize something so massive and advanced can be run without someone at the helm. ] So it truly is a title without consideration to its use.

I guess so, yeah. We'll just have to wait and see if it comes in handy or something ...

In the meanwhile...

[ She makes a small gesture and turns partway. ]

Walk with me? Unless, of course, you've other business to attend.

Nah, I was just gathering some herbs for medicine. [ She lifts the arm she's holding her basket with to indicate where she was collecting them ...

But she'll step up to walk with her with a smile ]

So where are you from, O'danya?

[ That gets a twitch of her ears to match the smile before she matches pace. Her gaze is on their surroundings for any sign of their quarry, but that doesn't mean she isn't attentive to Ino, either. ]

A realm called Eorzea. Judging by this place and the reaction of my shipmate both, I've gathered it is quite a different realm than many here would be accustomed. Rather... uncivilized if I were to guess at their thoughts.

[ That was what Garlemald thought. Uncivilized and wild was Eorzea's dependence on aether and the Twelve to guide and protect their people. It was enough reasoning to attempt a hostile takeover. ]

[ Well, she hasn't heard of that one before, so she's intrigued. ]

Why's that? Not enough technology, or ... ?

That is a very large part of it... However, Eorzea was also put under persecution for our inability to "let go" of our gods, the Twelve, or otherwise permanently eradicate a very delicate threat to our lands.

[ She shakes her head and shrugs almost like it ain't even her problem, bro. It was literally her biggest problem for ages and she almost single-handedly stopped an entire war by being conduit to the mothercrystal in an awesome final battle but eh. She's no Hildibrand, that's for sure. ]

Huh ... sounds complicated.

I wouldn't really call it uncivilized, though ... every world and country has its problems and differences.

Perhaps it would be easier to say that I'm more at ease here in Gondur than up in the sky inside of our ships? Casting aside the lack of any race but hyur or other small differences, it feels much like home to me.

Oh, believe me, I am too. [ In the forest, at least. The town is a whole other matter ... ] I have to get off the ship and get some sunshine and grass in or else I go crazy.

That is what I was beginning to fear. [ It does get a chuckle out of her, though. ] Others do not seem as attached to nature, however.

Yeah, who knows. [ She gives her a bit of a shrug ] My family runs a flower shop, though, and I used to live near a forest, so I'm used to being surrounded by that sort of thing.

Perhaps you've a better idea of what I seek, then. [ There's a tilt of her head. ] Is that where you learned to make medicine?

[ She nods ]

Yeah, I'm a medic, so it comes in handy.

So what is it you're looking for, exactly?

Oh! How convenient. [ Considering she's specced as a healer right now. ]

Some creature called a deer. I was assured I would know it when I saw it.

[ look they have antelopes and that's about the closest thing ]

Oh! Yeah, I know what a deer is. One of my friends raises them. Their antlers are good for medicine, too.

I've used antlers of the antelopes in Eorzea for similar purposes. My partner grinds them for alchemy, and I've been known to fashion a spear or two.

[ Her relief is obvious only in the slight lessening of her shoulders' tension. ]

Then if you're willing, Ino, I would share the profits of the venture with you once we've located any. Reasonable?

Oh, you don't have to worry about that ... I'd be happy to help either way!

Then allow me the indulgence. It will certainly aid in recreating my reputation as a woman of her word!

[ SPEAK OF THE DEVIL, WAS THAT SOME BRANCHES CRACKLING UP AHEAD? ]

[ She starts to laugh, but -- immediately goes silent and still when she hears that, looking for the source of the movement ]

[ O'danya moves into a practiced stance, book at her hip now open and poised in her hand. She isn't looking at the pages but rather what might be lurking beyond the woods. After a moment of tense silence...

A rather gorgeous and grown doe wanders out of the foliage, unknowing of her company only a few yards away. O'danya's shoulders lump in disappointment because that certainly doesn't have any antlers for use. ]
