So I have been meaning to ask since we landed...I've been led to understand this entire charade is suppose to historically accurate. How would you say it compares to that claim?

[Crowley glances around Dirkwall as they walk, pulling a face.]

It's pretty close, to be honest. They got the smell right and everything. Of course, the whole hidden technology part kind of ruins it.

It does from our side of things, I suppose. I'm frankly a little surprised none of them have caught on yet.

Sometimes, people like to live in wilful ignorance. It's like they bubblewrap themselves from the truth.

I can't say I fault them for it. I do know it isn't my place to go shining lights into corners for their own good. Not unless you can also be around for the aftermath as well.

[He raises his wine bottle]

And considering our time here it limited, I intend to devote that time to enjoying this dirty little rock.

Actually, what I'd really been wondering was whether you any saw any of the original Shakespeare productions.

Certainly. Saw some of the really early stuff, when he was hashing it out as a young up-and-coming.

And would you say that compares to his current reputation?

For some reason, people these days think he's this great scholar.

They seem to forget he was a filthy little fucker, who wrote as much as what we'd consider 'porn' these days as he did actual plays.

Did he? I admit I only had a chance to read a few of this works back in the castle, but they didn't seem especially salacious to me. Though perhaps my standards are skewed.

Oh, he had rauchy stuff in so much of them. And a lot of murder, too.

Like that one where the dude bakes a woman's sons into a pie and then gets her to eat them.

Ghastly. [He doesn't sound as shocked by this as he should be]

Was is very popular?

Not as much as the comedies and tragedies. You know how people are.
