[Vash takes the book with a huge grin and salutes Mattias with a quick two finger flick from his forehead.] Ah thanks! This will be great for the... long travels!

[Vash digs out a few coins and hands it to the shop keep.] That's my good man! [Once his new book is paid for Vash turns back toward Mattias.] So! You hungry? I feel I should treat you to lunch after suggesting a new book to me! [And you know... not lead you away from the argument you were just having.]

Thats really not—[From the corner of his eye, Mattias can see the shopkeeper's expression sour at the mere thought of him staying. He even goes so far as to look to the constable, a portly man just a few yards away. Had they really gotten that out of hand?

Mattias wets his lips, turning back to Vash.]—A great idea! I'm... starving.

[Not really. He chuckles nervously, gesturing towards... something.] Lead the way!

Right this way! I know a great tavern not too far from here! [With a quick skip to his step Vash starts to lead the way in the exact opposite direction of the vendor and constable.

Just too bad once their out of eye sight and a few moments later it's clear Vash's tavern isn't right nearby. In fact he's actually looking just a little lost.] Ummm....

[By now, Mattias can only guess at his intentions. Considering the tavern was in the complete opposite direction, it was fairly obvious. Still, he humors him, following quietly until, finally he sighs. Points to their left.]

If we walk around the market, we should find one. You must’ve gotten turned around in the stalls.

Oh, yes! Of course. [Vash's mouth opens wide as he lets out an uproarious and very likely annoying laughter.] HAHAHAHAHHA! You know what? You're right! How silly of me to get turned around like that! AHHHH-HAHAHAHAHA!

B-But maybe you should lead the way. You know, just to make sure I don't get turned around again like that.
