[Gym]
[Kitty works out regularly, training with and without powers so sometimes when she gives the punching bag a powerful hit and it swings back you might just see it swing back through her harmlessly. Or she might be doing some acrobatic maneuvers only to land mid-air. But the thing she's been working on most diligently is being able to have part of herself phased and part solid. She never thought it was possible when she was younger, but with greater control of her powers she's been able to pull it off. So, you may see her looking very focused almost as if she's meditating with one hand resting flat on a board and the other one fisted against it.]

[Dance Studio]
[Kitty is sweeping up after all the work that's been put into the dance studio. She managed to get a lot done while she was trying to distract herself from Winn's coma. And now there isn't much left to do but announce it and use it. The nerves decided on now to catch up with her.]

[Library]
[She donated a large stack of books from the ring world before she'd read them all, so it's exciting to head into the science section and find new things even if she put them some of them there. You know, she might even stray from science and try something crazy. Maybe even a novel? What are these other shelves all about?]

[ our story does not begin on the iskaulit, but fear not - for it shall get there. it starts in a bedroom on the twin roses, where one winn schott sneaks out of bed early in the morning. on the dent his head left in the pillow he leaves a special origami token - it's a special day, after all - an especially elaborate flower, before changing into his cubs jersey and sneaking out to the kitchen to get breakfast.

it's not the most imaginative of breakfasts, but there is a smiley face on the pancakes.

putting down the tray he carefully and quietly sneaks to the side of the bed, rests his head close to his sleeping girlfriend's ear, and sings ]

Happy anniversary to us, happy anniversary to us,
Can you believe it's been a whole year now?
Happy anniversary to us~

[ and presses a soft kiss to her neck. ]

[She was starting to wake as he left but her eyes stayed closed as she tried to hit the snooze in her brain. She hears him come back in and she's just about to resign herself to the world of wakefulness when the song starts. Her lips bend into a smile and she opens her eyes looking both charmed and confused—it's a hard combination to pull off.]

Our anniversary? How long was I asleep?

One night.

[ he smiles and kisses her lips ]

You're much better at this sleeping thing that I am.

[She happily kisses him back.] Isn't our anniversary April 22nd? [The date of the masquerade on the poison moon where not only was it a very substantial date, but he slept over and after that any thought of keeping things casual was so completely removed from her mind.]

What are you using? [The first obviously and she knows they met and spent time together before the dance, but she can't remember actual dates, though she's pretty sure they met in March.]

That's the masquerade, isn't it?

[ it's a logical choice for an anniversary, but as far as he's concerned they were together long before. she even called him boyfriend for the first time before the dance. he doesn't feel like that time should be excluded.

he gently moves the hair out of her face. ]

Exactly one year ago you pulled me into that supply closet for our first real talk, and our first makeout session.

[She nods and then laughs softly.] You couldn't call it something classy like our first kiss? I can't believe you remember the exact date of that. [Smiling so fondly at him.] I would still pull you into any supply closet for real talks and makeouts.

I could, but we did much more than kiss.

[ he laughs ]

I'd follow you into any supply closet. [ she gets another kiss before he gets up and brings the tray over ] Eat up, you're gonna need the energy.

[She sits up smiling.] Oh wow, presumptuous! [She's kidding. Of course he'll get laid.] What do you have planned, mister? [She sees the smiley face.] Hey, you stole my cute thing and made it cuter somehow.

What makes you think that's what I'm talking about? [ it's kinda what he was talking about, okay. he smiles. ] What can I say, I'm the master of cute.

[ he pulls an elongated box wrapped in a blue ribbon and hands it to her. at first glance, one might think there's a bracelet inside. there isn't. there are two tickets to the cubs cardinals game. ]

Oh no! [Best reaction to a gift box, right? She holds it without opening it yet.] I wasn't really done with all the things I wanted to do to your gift. I thought I had another three weeks. I was going to make it prettier and better somehow.

[Space Bar]
[Mon-El is the Space Bar's newest bartender, enjoying part-time, flexible hours to better serve you drinks and smiles! He's also watched shows that indicate people are supposed to tell their problems to bartenders, so he's ready. Come at him, bros!]

[Library]
[Did you take Mon-El for a big reader? Well, he's usually not, but he has been finding books more and more useful for learning about Earth customs and for instructions on how to do things he never really partook in on Daxam especially with less available television here. Of course, not all these books will lead him to helpful or earthly information, but he's here to look through them. You might find him with a cooking book or a self help book or maybe he's wandered into some misleading fiction. You might want to help or set him up for failure. You can't really go wrong either way.]

[Gym]
[When he works out, it's usually with Kara, but he does occasionally go by himself and now he's very careful about only hitting things that have been designed for people of enhanced strength. You might also see him blur across the room at super speed.]

[Is it wild? Is it card-y? (What?) Well, it belongs here!]

Hey, hey - look at me. [ he smiles ] You being with me is the only gift I need. Besides, we didn't discuss when our anniversary should be, we can just celebrate it twice, like your birthday.

[She looks at him and why does he have the best face ever? How is that even a thing someone can have?] No, I like our deep talks and kissing anniversary. I think we should just have the one. Instead of you beating me at both. [Anniversaries are totally a competition, right? Kiss.]

[ laughing ]

You haven't even opened it yet.

Yes, but I know you. [Smiling at him as she opens up the box finally, eager to see what it is. And, yes, she was guessing jewelry, but she is in no way disappointed by what she does find, but she's also not sure what to make of them.] Did you get the Atroma to capture two entire teams?

That wouldn't be very heroic, would it?

[ he grins and stands up ] Eat - [ he rummages through her locker and takes out the jersey and cap he made her, laying them out for her. ]

What? You're giving my mystery tickets and telling me to eat and that's it? [Gets a fork full of food though because eating can't be delayed for this.]

Beautiful and brilliant, how'd I get so lucky.

[ he smiles and sits to eat with her, wrapping one arm around her. ]

[ things haven't been so simple for nancy in the weeks since her arrival but she had figured out a schedule that she keeps to almost too strictly. you can find her, every single day in the library, pouring over books, taking notes in her notebooks, as if she's cramming up towards an exam of some sort.

she'd be frequenting both the firing range and the gym during the early hours of the morning. dressed in a jumpsuit, hair pulled back and a single golden necklace of two ballet slippers, she'd spend her time practicing her control of the pistols and the laser guns as well as working on getting in better shape.

she was never really terrible at sports but it was never a prime interest, either. here, however, she runs and uses the sandbag, taking out endless frustrations ( barb, barb, home, the monster, the memories, the nightmares - the upside down ) on it until her muscles are sore.

and then, sometimes, when those get a bit too much, she retreats to the prayer room and it's there, only there when she clutches a few photos between her fingers and allows herself to cry. ]

[She leans her head on his shoulder for a moment, but it's not very helpful for eating so it doesn't last long.] This is good.

...So not even a hint?

Not a single one.

[ he kisses her cheek affectionately ]

Such adorable cruelty. [She nuzzles back.] The first is easier to remember than the twenty second.

Both are pretty easy, but I think April Fools is more us.

[ plus, it may protect them from cisco's pranks. though, right now, he would love to be pranked by his bro, it would mean he's feeling better. ]

I did not think about it being April Fools. You're not just messing with me, right?
