Who: The crew of the SS Wonderduck and any visitors
Broadcast: N/A
Action: SS Wonderduck
When: The first few weeks of April

[The crew has changed a lot since the last mingle. What're you up to, Wonderducks? What nasty and/or hilarious rumors are being spread about you?]

But of course, I cannot blame them. The chance to try your experimental dishes, disasters or not sounds like an excellent chance to take.

Sometimes, hope is all you have. It is good to not forget it. It is always there, to fall back on, if you let it be.

You're extremely philosophical for a talking candelabra, if you don't mind me saying.

[He won't pry, but talking objects are a little beyond what he would consider normal. Although, a lot of what he's going through as of late could be categorized as that.]

[A laugh escapes him. He doesn't seem to take offence. ]

I don't mind at all, but that might be because I was not always a talking candelabra. I used to be human.

[ That stops Ignis for a moment. He used to a human? ]

Indeed. I imagine that there's some sort of story behind what happened then.

[It would be in poor taste to ask how it happened. Wouldn't it?]

But I suppose that you being human before would explain how you can be so rational.

There is! One with an Enchantress and a rather over-reactive curse.

[At least he doesn't seem to mind talking about it. Even if he...omits certain truths. ]

I do not know about that. I know someone in the Fleet who is usually a sword, and he seems to do just fine.

[ He might come from a land of magic, but even this... Well... a special rock from the sky fell and cursed people to turn into monsters. Why not an enchantress? ]

I see. That's a little more fantastical than I was expecting, but I'm not sure why that is.

[And yet he's not asking for the full story. Because he's not going to pry and he's not going to answer any prying questions either. It's only fair.]

Ah, yes, I saw his broadcast. It was rather dramatic and I have to say that I wasn't really expecting that either. It would seem some worlds are vastly different from my own. I suppose this is just a very steep learning curve for me until I am more acquainted with the happenings aboard these ships.
servantnotserving: (Oh you)

[personal profile] servantnotserving 2017-04-25 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
It was more fantastical than I ever expected, too. I never thought magic was real until it happened to me. But here I am.

[Lumiére appreciates that, people DO so like to know why he is the way he is, and while he doesn't mind telling them, it's somewhat wearing, reliving the worst day of his life over and over again. ]

Ahaha, that I can understand. Everything here is very different to what I am used to. But it is exciting to learn, no?

That's almost the opposite of my own world. Magic and technology are nearly married in a great deal of the things we use.

[Niflheim is much more advanced than Lucis, technologically, but that's to make up for their deficiency. ]

I'm not against acquiring new knowledge, but I would like to dictate at least some of the terms that I do so. However, I suppose my main duty is to just try to adjust to life here as well as I can and keep my friends safe from harm.

That must be an...interesting world to live in. Not that I have all that much technology back home, either. Nothing like what we have here, anyway.

That is a noble calling. Keeping your friends safe. Especially in a place as strange as this.

It has its moments, I suppose. I've never been bored.

[Because he likes books and staying busy.]

I suppose it could be seen as a calling as well. But if one isn't willing to adapt to the circumstances one finds, then they're doomed. And I don't think I am ready to roll over just yet. Are you?
servantnotserving: (Only human again)

[personal profile] servantnotserving 2017-04-27 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
That is a good thing! It would be dreadful, to be bored.

[Boredom is the WORST. ]

Absolutely not! As they say, it is not over until the fat lady sings, and she is currently a wardrobe so I believe we are all safe.
