[ The next time Jayden tries to squeeze in a quick run on the treadmill, she finds something else on the cargo bay: one excessively large crate, about knee height and equally long and wide, filled with... a lot of yarn. Most are varying shades of blue, but there are some silvers, purples, and reds in there, too. Lying on top is a note: " Fan Theory: Jayden's soul is tied to her Ghost with invisible string! "
Jayden's staring down at the crate, arms crossed and eyebrows raised, completely unamused. Her Ghost, meanwhile, is scanning the yarn crate, as if he's going to glean any special information about it. (He's not. But he can hope, right?) ]
... Yeah. Because that makes sense.

[ Weird deliveries aside - Jayden is regularly seen in the kitchen, sneaking snacks; in the cargo bay, working out or playing pinball; or on the bridge, sitting in the pilot's seat while she either practices, or just hangs out with whoever else might be around. Her Ghost is pretty much always with her, hovering nearby or floating around the room. He won't say much unless directly addressed... but to be fair, neither will she, most times.
But she'll have a conversation with any who show up - crewmates or visitors alike. Come meet one of the pilots! Just ignore the resting bitch-face. ]

He almost turns and leaves. He even get as far as the turning around part, but he hesitates, spinning back around on his heel. Admittedly, he's been avoiding his crew ever since his abrupt and dramatic exit from the Goldstone last month, but if there's one thing Felix hates, it's silence.]
Aren't you lonely here all by yourself?
no subject
A little, sure. [ She shrugs a shoulder. ] Been quiet on the ship lately - aside from the random-ass shipments, I mean.

[He leans lightly against the back of the comms station chair]
Given our pre-destined course, I'm sure it's not necessary for you to be here at all times.
no subject
[ She leans back in her own chair, takes a deep breath. ]
True. Just... figured if I'm meant to be a pilot, I should be practicing. Some habits are hard to break, I guess.

[ She hesitates, for whatever reason, before continuing. ]
Things around here day to day are a hell of a lot more relaxed than I'm used to. Maybe it's just me?
no subject
It's likely not just you, but I'd guess we all feel the same about these stretches of idle drifting. Personally, the castle had a monthly source of excitement in some form or another, though not always of the violent kind. My life back home was practically sedate by comparison.

Except for the... castle. That mean you were somewhere else before here that wasn't home?
[ Opal mentioned something like that, at one point - not the same place, but still, it means it's a real thing that happens. (And boy, that doesn't make her feel great about her chances of getting home again. ]

The flashing lights are so cool...
Oh, you've almost got it!! Don't give up!!!!
He makes fists, determined, sending good waves her way. Only, well, not. But he is muted in his cheering for you.]

... until it inevitably drops. She sighs. But hey, at least she got a hell of a lot of points that round!
She finally looks around, spots Takeshi, and looks a little surprised - definitely not who she thought might be game-stalking. Not... that she had any idea who would be. But you know. Still. She jerks her head toward the pinball machine, indicating that he should come closer. ]
Can't see well from all the way back there, right?
[ Meanwhile, she'll get ready to launch the next ball~ ]
You want the next game?
no subject
I don't know... I don't know how good I'd be!
You seem real amazing at it.
no subject
Not really, just lucky. For once. Bet you'll be plenty good at it if you try.
[ Aaaand, last ball! She'll keep talking while she plays, though. ]
So, you're the other pilot, right? Captain too?
no subject
Yes, ma'am! I was the captain of the Golden, and now I'm here as the second captain of the Goldstone!
Have you been doing okay here, lately?
[Checking on crew is super important, you know!]
no subject
Yeah, I'm doing okay. Thanks for asking, sir.
[ There goes that last ball, right down the between the flippers. She lets out a huff! of resignation, and then steps away from the machine and address him fully. It's her turn to straighten her posture, even going so far as to stand at ease. (Look, some habits die hard. But also, maybe the kid'll get a kick out of it? Who knows!) ]
Jayden Price. Was pilot of the Pathstone, happy to help pilot the Goldstone. was a soldier back home, so if the ship needs extra security, happy to help with that, too.
no subject
But you know, every day's a lesson! His expression brightens.]
You were a soldier back home, too?
no subject
Yes. A Guardian - Titan class. Defended the last city left on Earth.
no subject
I mean, we had lots of cities, but I helped fight bad monsters on Earth. In Japan!
