[So, we have rumors flying around, possible sponsor drops in our midst, and any other shenanigans that might be going down! What are you up to, Goldstone?]

[Maggie shakes her head, holding out the paper for him to take if he wants. It really hadn't been a big deal but she didn't like seeing animals get into things they probably shouldn't eat. Growing up on a farm taught her they had their ways of getting into trouble.]

Oh, no not that I can tell. I just saw him chewing on this and figured it was a bad idea.

[She shrugs. She had only glanced at the paper and wasn't sure if she should ask him about it.]

Thank you. He's been annoyed since we began the drift.

[Okita reaches out and takes the paper, giving it a quick glance before crumpling it up like scrap. He definitely doesn't need her asking about it, but since the important parts were missing, he could just...pretend it wasn't his.]

He's not used to being trapped within walls.

[Saizou grunts and starts snuffling, looking around for something else to chew on.]

[Maggie is content to get down on his level, holding out her hand palm down in an attempt to maybe earn his trust. She'd grown up around pigs, of course, and other animals. It was second nature to her to know how to approach them.]

What's his name?

[Saizou starts when Maggie leans down, but eventually comes closer for a sniff. He snuffles up against her fingers, decides there is no food there, and begins looking elsewhere.]

Saizou. He's still a baby in his own way, but also very mature in others.

[Oh look, Maggie's shoe looks like food. Time to chew on that.]

...Except for right now. Saizou!

[Maggie lets out a laugh, picking up Saizou only to steer him away from her shoes and put him down again.]

It's alright, I grew up on a farm. Pigs... cows... birds, the whole nine yards. My daddy's family had been raising them since before I was born. He's not botherin' nothin'.

[Cautiously, she scritches along the fur on his back, hoping he'll at least stop trying to eat everything and enjoy some attention.]

[The pig has only enough time to realize he's off the ground and begin to panic before he's back down again. Crisis averted, time to go back to--

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh. The piglet freezes and then melts under Maggie's touch, easing himself down to lie on the floor. Okita blinks in surprise and then lets out a small, quiet laugh.]

No wonder he likes you so much. So your family were farmers then? Did you help them raise the livestock?

[See? That wasn't so hard! Maggie gives him some nice good scratches for his trouble, nodding at Okita's question.]

I did. I took care of horses and some of the smaller animals like pigs, like this guy here. My father was a veterinarian too so when they got sick, I'd help him treat them since he taught me how. It's kinda come in handy, since we have a few animals on the ship now.

There are quite a few now, yes.

[An Evee, a cat, a pig, and a panda, according to his last count.]

I suppose now you can turn your attention from people to caring for the Goldstone's newest menagerie, hm?
