Peggy Carter's got a veritable guy-pile of suitors: Edwin Jarvis, Max Rockatansky, Jason Wilkes, Jack Thompson, Howard Stark, Stefan Salvatore, Steve Rogers, Sam Winchester, James Barnes, Clint Barton, Daniel Sousa, and counting! How many more can you name?

[ and not long after (in a state of utter pique and dismay), that same network registers a rather heartfelt reaction -- but this time with accompanying wide-eyed video. ] Jack -- Jack Thompson? Un-bloody-likely. The only thing he's ever got his eyes on is the next greasy rung on the ladder. [ peggy scoffs, disgusted. ] As pranks go, this one's been truly shambolic. The first of April was days ago.

[ in a few hours, she'll enjoy her meltdown all over again when she finds a box of sponsor gifts in the cargo bay filled with stickers, each with a different so-called suitor's name scribbled into the blank space. all of them are filled in except for an ominous pile with an attached note: in case there's so many you start to forget their names. blanks included for any others that we might have missed. ]

[Natasha's tone is incredibly dry, very much over these rumors already.]

Thankfully not. [ dry matches dry. ] You know what they say, ten -- eleven, I suppose -- is a crowd.

I don't know. With a line up like that, you could probably start your own business.

I'm cut out for a great many things, Natasha. Being a madam likely isn't one of them. [ at least she's not too bothered by the list itself -- she offers a bit of hollow laughter. only an idiot, she thinks, would fall for such a gauche trick. might as well embrace a bit of the absurdity. ]

[ whether someone's safe from her? different story. ]

Quite a thing to suggest about your -- friend?

[ she only knows these connections by hearsay. peggy can't be certain whether the pair are friends or colleagues. ]

[Natasha gives Peggy a faux innocent look.]

But I can't see why it would be a bad idea for him to learn the ropes from a mature woman.

[He grins wide, humored by the annoyance. He can't help it. Peggy, despite how much she'd probably hate it, is like his brother in some ways. As in, the way of the annoyed pissy face.]

Maybe I can fend him off with the hammer of Thor if he retaliates.

I have it on good authority he can't lift that.

Something is definitely up with things. Which is probably the vaguest way I could say these notes are getting more suspicious.

[Stefan shakes his head, already raising his eyebrows at the absurdity of it all. As far as rumors went, this was one of the more baffling ones.]
