Who: Lioriley and, you guessed it, YOU
Broadcast: Fleet-wide
Action: Marsiva
When: 03/17 - 03/21 idk how this works ok.
[ waking up in a bed you know for certain isn't your own is alarming. alarming enough to fall off the bed comically and firing up the audience you have no idea is watching just yet? not quite. lioriley isn't so graceless that her introduction to the new world of space is actually entertaining to watch. she wakes up, groggy and confused, and then slowly slides from the cot and stands there.
and... continues to stand there. for like five minutes. just looking around at everything that should be confusing to her but isn't. how does she know what those light fixtures are called? how does she know that the weird thing in her pocket is a communicator meant to access the 'network' of people that could be watching her every move right now. how does she know that?
the dark elf finally moves, spins around on her heel and faces one of the windows nearby. she knows she's on a ship, in space, and she's staring at billions of stars against an endless sea of black. she knows that... and yet its still so foreign. ]
How did I-- [ she starts to ask no one in particular about her predicament, still staring somewhat vacantly out in the depths of space. ] Can anyone hear me? [ SHE KNOWS YOU CAN!!! ]
action:
[ after the initial surprise of waking up and talking to... whoever decides to speak with her, lioriley ends up wandering the ship, searching for anything and everything that might be of particular interest. she doesn't seem all that alarmed, outwardly, though she does seem a little tentative still as she aimlessly meanders about the ship.
anyone that wants to approach her is free to do so. it's likely she'll do the same for any other passengers unwillingly thrust into the ship recently; asking questions about what they know (do you suddenly understand what's going on isn't that weird?), where they came from, and probably what the hell they're supposed to do now. come be confused with her! :D ]

We've been brought here for the entertainment of entities that may or may not exist. Supposedly, we're being broadcast-er, shown-to them at all times. [He's not explaining this right.] They're always watching us. Possibly paying us for our performances, too. Are you familiar with plays? Actors? It's like that, just on a wider scale.
[How much does he have to explain here, he just doesn't know. Better safe than sorry, though.] Now, what is a dark elf? Is it a race? A species? Is that why-[hold on, let him get up close to the screen.]-are your ears pointed?
no subject
We are a-- [ wow. she blinks, confused by the barrage of questions that eventually lead to ... that. ] Yes? They are larger than humans and pointed to better suit my range of hearing.

–It's not as bad as it sounds. True, our comforts are rudimentary and the food could be better but-[an audible shrugs.]-the people are pleasant. And the places we visit are all unique. Or they try to be.
no subject
You visit different places? Different ... planets? [ that word is weird who even invented that word. ]
no subject
[That seems to stem his questions for now. Thank god.] It's a planet now but not always. Last month was a series of moons. [Trying not to sound excited about that. It partially works.] But don't let it intimidate you. It's much like visiting a foreign city. Easier to think of it that way, too. For me, at least.

[ she turns her head to glance out the window again, considering her next question ]
How long ago did you arrive?
no subject
A month ago. [His voice is a bit warmer now. Less impatient and more genial.] Give or take. It's been an interesting period of adjustment. Tell me—your world. What is it like? I promise I'm asking for more than curiosity.
no subject
It would take quite some time to tell you all of the details of my world in its entirety. The world itself is called Kilarria, and it houses many different types of creatures - Dark elves, such as myself, Light elves, Humans, like you... [ she thinks he's human? she's assuming. ] Dwarves and the like. We all reign over different lands. My people, for instance, reside in the northern reaches for the sun does not shine, and it is cold all year around.

He has to bite his lip to keep from squeaking. Hold his hands to keep from trembling. Close his eyes and repeat a mantra to stay on task.] Perhaps... [Deep breath, Mattias.] Perhaps that was poorly phrased. What I meant to ask was—[tell me everything]—is your world similar to this? Is your technology as advanced as what's around you?

no subject
But that's beside the point. I come from a world similar, though we're without magic. I understand it might be difficult to comprehend the... intricacies present here and I'd hate to abandon you to them. If there's any further help you should need, do let me know.
[There's a long pause in which you can practically hear him debate pressing forward. It's too hard to resist.] Now... you said you lived in eternal night? I'm sorry, but... could I trouble you for a description?
no subject
[ just going to keep that line of communication open because that seems like something that could prove potentially interesting.
his next question has her tilting her head quizzically. one would think 'eternal night' would be self-explanatory. ]
Mm. [ she hums, trying to find the right words, ] Maligrae was the only city where the sun's rays could not reach, where our only light was from our own skin, and the moon that hung in the sky at all hours of the day. [ she glances out the window once more. ] Save for the lack of a moon shining upon us, I would say this reminds me of it in a sense - 'tis somehow darker, though, than what I am used to.
no subject
I suppose I should explain. [Before she starts thinking him weird like the rest of the population here.] My world is the opposite of your city. Instead of the moon, the sun never sets. The only darkness we have is from shadows. It's hard not to be curious of a city that dwells in moonlight. Particularly one that sound so beautiful.

—What I mean to say is, uh. That would be lovely. [The awkwardest beat in the world.] Lovelier still if you were to show me around.
[Ah. Wait.] In a platonic sense, of course.
no subject
I had not assumed anything other than platonic, my friend. I would be more than happy to show you around, should we ever get the chance.
