Who: Lioriley and, you guessed it, YOU
Broadcast: Fleet-wide
Action: Marsiva
When: 03/17 - 03/21 idk how this works ok.
[ waking up in a bed you know for certain isn't your own is alarming. alarming enough to fall off the bed comically and firing up the audience you have no idea is watching just yet? not quite. lioriley isn't so graceless that her introduction to the new world of space is actually entertaining to watch. she wakes up, groggy and confused, and then slowly slides from the cot and stands there.
and... continues to stand there. for like five minutes. just looking around at everything that should be confusing to her but isn't. how does she know what those light fixtures are called? how does she know that the weird thing in her pocket is a communicator meant to access the 'network' of people that could be watching her every move right now. how does she know that?
the dark elf finally moves, spins around on her heel and faces one of the windows nearby. she knows she's on a ship, in space, and she's staring at billions of stars against an endless sea of black. she knows that... and yet its still so foreign. ]
How did I-- [ she starts to ask no one in particular about her predicament, still staring somewhat vacantly out in the depths of space. ] Can anyone hear me? [ SHE KNOWS YOU CAN!!! ]
action:
[ after the initial surprise of waking up and talking to... whoever decides to speak with her, lioriley ends up wandering the ship, searching for anything and everything that might be of particular interest. she doesn't seem all that alarmed, outwardly, though she does seem a little tentative still as she aimlessly meanders about the ship.
anyone that wants to approach her is free to do so. it's likely she'll do the same for any other passengers unwillingly thrust into the ship recently; asking questions about what they know (do you suddenly understand what's going on isn't that weird?), where they came from, and probably what the hell they're supposed to do now. come be confused with her! :D ]

Space in its entirety can hear you. You're being broadcast.
[Except now he's actually looking at the feed and-] ... Are you glowing?
[how fucking gaudy can you be]
no subject
she tears her eyes away from the window long enough to glance down at the communicator, blinking owlishly. ] I am. [ how is that relevant. ]
no subject
[A pause. He mutters.] Answer my questions and I'll answer yours.
no subject
[ that seems like an okay deal? not that it matters; she was going to answer him this time anyway. ] It is a trait found in all dark elves such as myself. The glowing is caused by magical energy within my body; controlled and retained by the leylines you see on my skin. [ she waves her hand, wisps of blue following in an arch and then dissipating. ]

We've been brought here for the entertainment of entities that may or may not exist. Supposedly, we're being broadcast-er, shown-to them at all times. [He's not explaining this right.] They're always watching us. Possibly paying us for our performances, too. Are you familiar with plays? Actors? It's like that, just on a wider scale.
[How much does he have to explain here, he just doesn't know. Better safe than sorry, though.] Now, what is a dark elf? Is it a race? A species? Is that why-[hold on, let him get up close to the screen.]-are your ears pointed?
no subject
We are a-- [ wow. she blinks, confused by the barrage of questions that eventually lead to ... that. ] Yes? They are larger than humans and pointed to better suit my range of hearing.

–It's not as bad as it sounds. True, our comforts are rudimentary and the food could be better but-[an audible shrugs.]-the people are pleasant. And the places we visit are all unique. Or they try to be.

Hello, this is Dr. Beverly Crusher. I know this is all very strange - believe me, I've only been here a week myself - but you're currently on board a starship travelling through space. You've been kidnapped like the rest of us for another being's entertainment. I'll try to answer any questions you have as best I can.
no subject
[ she smiles right back at her. ] ... Have you any idea the name of this 'being' that kidnapped us?

How many others have you met here that have been obtained from different realms?
no subject
Currently, there are about 65 of us.
no subject
Are you aware of how frequently newcomers arrive?

[he doesn't seem weirded out by her being weirded out, so--]
Welcome to the Drift Fleet, I suppose.
no subject
Ah... thank you all the same. Might I ask what your name is?
no subject
[he tilts his head, cordially.]
I'm Robin, like the bird.
no subject
[ likewise, the dark elf bows her head; wisps of white falling over her shoulder. bowing to a screen is just as weird as talking to it. ]
A pleasure, Robin, all things considered. I am Lioriley. [ a beat ] Unfortunately I've no animal to compare my name to.
