First checklist [video (action for Marsiva)]

Who: Twilight Sparkle, open to the public
Broadcast: Unfiltered Network video (accidental - you knew it was coming eventually)
Action: For those aboard the HS Marsiva
When: October 13th

[ The video feed turns on to show a..... pastel purple unicorn pony. The audience probably wasn't expecting this.

She's pacing in what looks like the hospitality deck of the HS Marsiva. And muttering to herself- ] Pull yourself together, Twilight. So this isn't the Thor, but it's still a spaceship. There's probably just been some sort of mix-up. If I can't get in contact with anypony else though...

[ She uses her magic to start going through what looks like an electronic book with the words "DON'T PANIC" written in large letters on the back. ] And the Guide doesn't have anything on this! You're useless, Guide! "I know everything in the galaxy," it says. Bah!

There has to be somepony - somebody - here who knows what's going on. I'll even take a Vogon! A few dozen forms is better than nothing.

[ A small pause- ] And look on the bright side, whatever's going on, it can't be as bad as the castle.

Dr. Sparkle, then.

[ man, is he glad to finally have a title to latch onto. he's a huge hypocrite, but... he finds it a lot less nerve-wracking, to call someone by a title than a name. names seem a little too personal. ]

I'm Riku, I'm the security on the SS Bloodsport. [ making a face at the name, because he does nooot like it. too ominous for his liking. after a moment of thought; ] There's ten captains... so there's gotta be ten other ships.

Ten!? [ That's a lot of ships. ] And are all of them this big?

[limitstorm]

I don't know--never been on the mothership before.

[ he gives her a helpless shrug before looking around him and turning his video to the interior. ] These ships are pretty cramped, though--there's four people on mine. Some only have three people.

[checklist]

Oh. Oh. That's... pretty small. [ She's used to, like, metropolis-sized ships. ] That makes a little more sense. [ Although that also means there's not nearly as many people as she thought. Certainly not enough for this to be another improbable event or stop for the Thor. ]

So what's a "shuffle day?"

I've only been here for one so far... but people end up on the mothership during the week, and on shuffle days, they're put into ships.

There was a girl, Cress--I think she arrived on a shuffle day, and she got put into a ship automatically as captain. You arrived later, so they keep you apart until then.

Wait, so... people are just made captain? At random?

That's no a good basis for leadership! [ She focuses on the important things, clearly. ]

[limitstorm]

[ he laughs a little. ]

She's the only person in her ship, there's no one else to be captain. If your crew doesn't pick a captain, they pick one at random.

Well... [ She seems uncomfortable with the idea of somepony unqualified taking a position of leadership, but she's willing to ammend her view a little. ] I suppose with... such small crews... that sort of thing really is unavoidable.

It would be nice if people came in who were both willing and able to assume such responsibilities, though.

Some people might already have to be a leader where they come from--not having to be one might be easier on them.

[ not talking about himself at all la la la la ]

But you're right. If everyone here actually wanted to be here... maybe it'd be different.
