[ normally, in 99% of the time, steve is quite fine with their comfortable routine of morning and nightly tangles and a mostly professional relationship in-between the two. However, she seemed to have stumbled onto the 1% with this one.

He doesn't even bother looking over her shoulder towards the hall. Gently, he takes the device, places it on the counter before cupping her cheeks with both his palms. It's a tender, grateful press of lips, slow and loving. ]

[ a moment passes before she comes to her senses -- the starchy smell of raw pumpkin with its stringy guts bringing her back to the realization that they're in the kitchen. this isn't the place; this isn't the time. even so, she continues the kiss for a moment longer. gentle gratitude tastes good on him.

Hm. Perhaps I should have showed it to you earlier. [ peggy's fingers are gripping his arm. ]

[ she laughs -- low and sweet. but peggy also shakes her head, betraying disbelief. ]

I don't think it's as simple as a straight swap. The crust'll do, of course. But I think we'll need to try and puree the pumpkin. Maybe roast it first.

I went to a girls' school in a fashionable part of London -- [ peggy huffs, and leaves her device in his care while she returns to carving up the pumpkin flesh. ] And I managed to not cut every class that involved domestic sciences. Squashes and the like are best handled roasted.

[ huff. her cheeks puff with an indignant sigh, and she rolls her eyes before turning back to the counter -- to her work -- and the knife makes a solid chopping sound against the board. ]

Not until I've finished carving up your precious pumpkin.

Be nice. It's going to be our lunch and probably our dinner too for the next few days.
