I've been feeling a little left out with all you guys getting presents and fun rumors. Which is why I thought I'd add some of my own. Ahem.

[ Yuri dramatically clears his throat. ]

"Yuri blew up a casino once."

"Yuri's secret power is talking to bunnies."

"Yuri wore a bikini once. And won a swimsuit competition."

That should cover it. I guess now I have to do the requisite log off and hiding in my room in shame.

If you want to visit, I'm at the Bishop. I'm in the mood for crepes.

Actually, I didn't. But a friend of mine did. Or she cleaned them out. She was rather vague on the specifics.

[Because that would have been EPIC. But now Doudanuki is sad.]

Well, then why not tell one of those stories instead of sayin' you blew up something you didn't?

Isn't that the whole point of these rumors? They're not supposed to be true.

Why would anyone wanna spread a story that ain't true?

Gossip. And it's a patented way to make someone feel on edge.

[ Most people. Yuri isn't one to be bothered by rumors. ]

So I made some up. A lot of people here seem to be getting theirs from the Atroma.

[Oh. Gossip is gross. He doesn't know if he's gotten any rumors because he honestly doesn't care as long as people understand the one and only story important to him.]

As long as people ain't lying about what's true about 'em, why care.

[The only rumor he'd hate was that he wasn't really a sword. Or that he'd never been to battle. Everything else would just be mildly annoying.]

But is that why everyone's been yellin' over the network? Why would you want someone to gossip about you?

[ Huh. Yuri grins, bemused. ]

I don't think that's why they're yelling. Hearing stuff that's not true apparently gets under everyone's skin.

...Well, I can get that. People've been telling me I ain't really a sword and it's pissin' me off.

[But outright lies?]

But if it ain't even a little bit true, just let 'em talk. The Atroma're probably doin' this just to mess with everyone anyway.

[Facetious or not, Doudanuki thinks he's being honest and appreciates it. He snorts in what could be considered derisive laughter.]

Yeah, you guys are. At least you're honest about it though. A lot of other humans like to defend themselves and say they're totally normal. Nothing's normal here. We're all stuck in space and people are watchin' our every move for entertainment like we're some weird living art piece.

I try not to lie too often. It tends to make my problems worse.

It's more like I always find myself in the worst situations accidentally.
