[Hey remember that whole Blood Donation network post that came up a few days ago? Well it's time for the actual blood drive! On the network, there will a message posted reminding everyone of the blood drive located on the SS Blue Fish - which is parked in a volcano in Mor. You know the volcano.]

[If your character is Donating, please fill out this form here! ]

[If your character is Volunteering - they'll have been sent a message asked to arrive before the blood drive start to set up and go over procedures. Only Volunteers with Lab Assistant Augment or a Medical background will be helping with drawing blood! Volunteers without that (or lab assistants not interested in drawing blood) can be assisting with greeting people, helping people with paperwork, checking on donor's well-being, handling payments, or manning the cookie table. There's lots to do!]

[Be warned that since it's a blood drive, sections of this post will Contain Content with Blood and Needles. If that stuff makes you uneasy and you wish to handwave your character's involvement with the blood drive- that's totally fine! Otherwise go, have some fun full of blood and cookies!]

[ Steph sits quietly, watching while she prepares, and moves or stays still as necessary to be helpful. ]

Oh, um... homeschooling? Mostly? During the day, anyway. By night, I fight crime.

[ ...well, their secret identities were all busted when they showed up in costume anyway. And it doesn't hurt that it sounds like a joke when she says it that way. ]

[Beverly grins, completely taking it as a joke. Whoops.]

Like a superhero? Masked vigilante and all that?

[ Yeah, she'd kind of expected that response. That's fine. ]

Actually... yeah. Exactly like that. No superpowers, though, so I think I still count as one of the less weird members of the fleet... [ Because a nonpowered teenage girl dressing up and going out to punch the forces of evil is totally normal. (It is in Gotham.) ]

Oh! [Suddenly realizing Steph was being completely serious.] How fascinating! I always believed superheroes were only a fictitious invention of the twentieth century. But of course, the possibilities of the multiverse are endless, as this fleet proves.

[Everything is ready, so she begins to draw Steph's blood.]

You being in the hospital wouldn't have anything to do with fighting crime, now would it?

[ She's silent for a moment, looking down at the needle and the blood leaving her arm. She has seen way too much of her own blood lately, but at least she can still look at it without flinching. That makes her feel a little better. ]

Kinda, yeah. I screwed up, bad. It won't happen again.

[ Not that way, anyway. ]

[Beverly's face instantly becomes very serious as she studies Steph for a moment. She's seen that look before, on Wesley's face, during the Alpha Squadron incident. Returning her attention to the needle, she successfully fills up the first collection tube. Before starting on the next round, she lays a comforting hand on Steph's forearm.]

I won't ask what happened, but whatever it was, I'm glad you survived. [She gently sqeezes Steph's arm, then lets it go so she can continue drawing her blood.]

[ She looks up to meet Beverly's eyes for a second, and smiles briefly. ]

Thanks. So am I.

[She returns Steph's smile before continuing to draw her blood in silence. If Steph wants to talk, she will. If not...]

[ Oh, Beverly. When Steph doesn't feel like talking to fill the silence, it's usually a sign something is deeply wrong. ]

So, when you mentioned the twentieth century... how long ago is that, for you?

[An amused half-smile. When she doesn't have to worry about the Temporal Prime Directive here, it's fun to see people's reactions when she tells them what year it is for her.]
