[Hey remember that whole Blood Donation network post that came up a few days ago? Well it's time for the actual blood drive! On the network, there will a message posted reminding everyone of the blood drive located on the SS Blue Fish - which is parked in a volcano in Mor. You know the volcano.]

[If your character is Donating, please fill out this form here! ]

[If your character is Volunteering - they'll have been sent a message asked to arrive before the blood drive start to set up and go over procedures. Only Volunteers with Lab Assistant Augment or a Medical background will be helping with drawing blood! Volunteers without that (or lab assistants not interested in drawing blood) can be assisting with greeting people, helping people with paperwork, checking on donor's well-being, handling payments, or manning the cookie table. There's lots to do!]

[Be warned that since it's a blood drive, sections of this post will Contain Content with Blood and Needles. If that stuff makes you uneasy and you wish to handwave your character's involvement with the blood drive- that's totally fine! Otherwise go, have some fun full of blood and cookies!]

BEFORE OPENING - VOLUNTEERS ONLY

[Hey you gracious volunteers welcome to your first Blood Drive! How are you spending the time before the blood drive opening? Actually listening or reading about how to do your job? Wondering if you made a huge mistake? Trying to sneak some cookies?]

[Well whatever it is, you aren't alone! Go sign in on the attendance sheet and say hi to your fellow co-workers for the day!]

[Beverly is, naturally, prompt in her arrival. She's happy to allow Allen to explain procedures to the group, but she's on hand to answer any questions her fellow volunteers might have about drawing blood. She also will be organizing their supplies, making everything is in order. Feel free to come chat with her though!]

[About half an hour before opening, Allen's just finishing up giving lessons involving what people need to know. He was a bit awkward and stammered some (man he's not used to being the expert unless it's about dead things), but he seems to power through it okay]

- Remember, no matter how much someone insists they can handle it, please don't draw more blood than necessary! We don't need them winding up needing blood.

And- that's all I can think of! If you have any questions...I'll, uh, be here! Thank you again all! You're...dismissed? I mean- until we start!

[And with that, he's gonna...stop talking, let the group disperse and take a breather in the form of...busying himself with paperwork and drinking coffee.]

[Beverly follows Allen over to the coffee pot and fetches a cup for herself. Too bad there aren't any croissants lying around.]

[It's true he could do with some food right now. He looks up and smiles a bit sheepishly]

I'm just glad I didn't trip...it's very..different, from talking over the network.

[Upon arrival, there's a foldable card table set up just outside the medical bay with a few volunteers. This is where donators get greeted and ask to fill out any paperwork they neglected to fill out before. If they have any questions, concerns or protests- this is a good place to do it too!]

[This is the part where you give up your blood. For medical volunteers, have a wiki-how. Just remember the average amount is 1 pint for blood drives. For those donating blood well.....hope you don't have regrets]

[Beverly sits at one of the donation stations, her instruments sanitized and lined up neatly before her, ready for donors. Don't be shy!]

[Helping people!!!! Manolo is happy to be here, he's never actually given blood before, but he doesn't seem all that afraid. Then again, the bar of things for him to fear has recently been set impossibly high. This is nothing.

He'll wander over, giving Beverly a wave. ]

Hello! I'm guessing with all the needles that this is the place to give blood and I haven't stumbled on anything underhanded.

[Okay, even Beverly has to stare a little here. Is he... made of wood? How is that possible ? She quickly recovers, however, and she returns his smile with a cheerful one of her own.]

You're in the right place! I'm Dr. Crusher.

[She picks up the donor list.]

May I have your name please?

[ Steph steps up to the station with a smile, and no sign of hesitation - she's a nurse's daughter, after all. And she's been through so much worse than a needle in her arm. ]

So... I was in the hospital before I got here? A little? But I'm pretty sure I have all my blood back now. Like, ninety percent sure.

[Beverly laughs.]

Well, I certainly hope so! You'd be in trouble if all your blood was missing!

May I have your name please?

[Finrod is not shy, exactly, but there is a bit of hesitancy to his step as he looks about. Honestly, he has no idea what to expect here and it shows on his face. Eventually, he does stop in front of Beverly's station.]

I came to donate blood. I trust I am in the right place?

[Beverly can sense his hesitance, so she smiles as warmly as she can. Which, for her, is pretty damn warm.]

You are! I'm Dr. Crusher and I will be taking care of you today.

COOKIE TABLE

[After you get through with your donation (or if you decided to try to sneak in), there's another table near the exit with a plate full of cookies and jugs of...well, it's actually just the orange flavored drink from the kitchen dispenser. Either way, it's up to the volunteers to make sure everyone who donated gets some of both.]

[This is also the spot where you pick up your payment, whether it be money, a voucher for free food of your choice later (within reason), or a pat on the head for being a good fleetmember! ]

[Sokka has given his lifeblood (probably while staring at the needle in abject terror and trying to BE A MAN!!! at the same time) and now he's reaping his reward. He's so going to try and sneak in more than his agreed price of 3.25 cookies.

He NEEDS them. ]

[ Steph has noticed, and so she doesn't feel at all bad snagging a cookie right out of his hand and shoving it in her mouth. ]

So were you planning to eat every cookie, or maybe leave some for everyone else? Who are also missing blood? [ It's teasing, not accusing, but seriously, dude. Not cool. ]

[WOW. WOW THAT'S SO RUDE. He just...stares as his cookie vanishes. ]

[ Steph drops into a chair next to Steffa, sinking into it with a soft sigh. ]

Okay, so this feeling? This sucks a lot more than I remember. [ Of course, that might have something to do with the fact that she now has much more unpleasant memories associated with the light-headedness of losing blood. The last time she felt like this, she blacked out and tipped off a roof, she's pretty sure. ] Can I have another cookie, please?
