shiny canon update!
Who: Axel and anybody
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: On the Tourist, in quarters if you want
When: Thursday, 19March, afternoon
[Broadcast]
[He looks... really unsettled, like he just watched something awful happen and doesn't even know how to process it. In fact that's pretty much exactly what happened: he awoke with a start from a dream he's sure wasn't a dream--he remembers it like it happened, like memories... but it's been hours, not the year-plus he experienced in that dream. He's still trying to wrap his head around everything, and that's when it hits him: he died. And Roxas is gone. Not just gone from the fleet, he already knew that part, and it suddenly hurts a thousandfold more than it did before, because Roxas had been here and now he's not, and now Axel knows he's gone for good. Suddenly he feels like he wasted an opportunity, and he has no excuse other than ignorance.
[He rubs his arms--it's strangely cold in here, it seems--and regards the feed on his communicator. He just needs to get his mind off this.]
So, Fleet, I'm curious: is there ice cream wherever you come from? What's your favorite flavor? Gimme your best ice cream story, I'm bored.

I never stated I was doing this because I am bored. I just find you exceptionally irritating.

Try me.

[Just gonna...wade right in.]

[It's like setting up a conversation landmine, really. Good luck, Axel. ]

[He's perfectly aware that there's not going to be a right answer to this question, so he'll stick to an honest one. Dammit Fenris why do you have to be so confrontational?]
no subject
That does not make it acceptable. If someone is caged in the dark, and never knows what it is like to step out into the sunlight, does it make it acceptable to leave them there?
no subject
[Sounds a little too much like work for Axel's taste. Maybe these people don't know their real situation, but he's not sure he'd go as far as 'caged in the dark'.]
no subject
It is better than standing by and doing nothing.
no subject
What makes you think they'll benefit from something like that, anyway? [His expression is serious, but he's not being belligerent, he's just trying to bring up a point.] People are panicky things, they're afraid of what they don't understand. Potentially catalyzing bloodshed, forcing these people to accept that their lives, their entire civilization, everything has been a lie... that might wind up doing more harm than good.
no subject
They will survive, rebuild. At least they can choose their lives as their own, instead of being forced to live a lie for generations.
no subject
Well, I guess... good luck with the uprising. It's not really my thing, personally. Try not to ah... kill anybody, okay?
no subject
I'm not planning on, unless I am forced to.
no subject
Heh, I feel like I should have expected that answer.
What are you planning to do if you're able to ah... liberate these people? Gonna stick around and help them create a new life for themselves, too?
[It just feels a little irresponsible to free them from under the tyrannical thumb of the theme park overlords only to leave them with no idea how to rebuild.]
no subject
[This is the difficult part, he should have learned from Nel, from himself, that sudden freedom is terrifying and hard to cope with. OH well.]
no subject
[He frowns a little, but if Fenris wants to play revolutionary, that's his prerogative. Axel isn't going to get in his way.]
Well, do what you need to do, I guess.
You never did answer my question, though. What are your thoughts on ice cream?
no subject
[But hey, Axel gets a little bit of FENRIS APPROVES for not being a dick about this and trying to stop him. Go Axel. ]
I am not overly fond of the stuff. It's too cold.
no subject
To each his own, I guess. Try it with a warm brownie sometime, you might change your mind. Or like a slice of hot apple pie.
no subject
...You can have it with apple pie?
[He sounds legitimately intrigued. ]
no subject
Sure! I mean you can have it with whatever you want, really, but ice cream on pie is pretty popular. They call it à la mode.
