shiny canon update!
Who: Axel and anybody
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: On the Tourist, in quarters if you want
When: Thursday, 19March, afternoon
[Broadcast]
[He looks... really unsettled, like he just watched something awful happen and doesn't even know how to process it. In fact that's pretty much exactly what happened: he awoke with a start from a dream he's sure wasn't a dream--he remembers it like it happened, like memories... but it's been hours, not the year-plus he experienced in that dream. He's still trying to wrap his head around everything, and that's when it hits him: he died. And Roxas is gone. Not just gone from the fleet, he already knew that part, and it suddenly hurts a thousandfold more than it did before, because Roxas had been here and now he's not, and now Axel knows he's gone for good. Suddenly he feels like he wasted an opportunity, and he has no excuse other than ignorance.
[He rubs his arms--it's strangely cold in here, it seems--and regards the feed on his communicator. He just needs to get his mind off this.]
So, Fleet, I'm curious: is there ice cream wherever you come from? What's your favorite flavor? Gimme your best ice cream story, I'm bored.

Voice
[there's a pause where he probably stretches or gestures... or something.]
How've you been, Axel? You seem a little tired.

[He gives a soft sigh, and then a smile he knows Robin can't see.]
Eh, it's just hard to sleep on these lousy cots. I'm definitely looking into some upgrades. Thinking I might go down to the planet and see about hoarding some real food, though, since we've got a spare fridge now.
What've you been up to, anything exciting?

Me... I've been keeping pretty quiet these last few weeks. This medieval thing isn't much my style. Been thinking about starting some sort of... Ah, what would I call it, a mercenary guild? Though not strictly for mercenaries, and not much of a "guild", either.

Yeah the medieval thing isn't really my thing, either--I like indoor plumbing and handheld communication devices.
[A snicker of laughter.]
So it's a not-just-mercenaries not-guild, I see. Makes perfect sense to me. What sorts of not-strictly-mercenarial activities would it cater to?

[and man is it getting crowded in there, even with people leaving...]
It's nothing special. I'm not a fan of field work; I prefer to pool together available jobs in the area, give them to people who are willing to work but hate talking and paperwork. It's more like project management than anything.

I see~ so you like to be the guy making sure the jobs get done... just not doing them yourself. [Sounds like Saïx. Only Robin is exponentially more personable than Saïx.] If you get this endeavor off the ground, lemme know; I like to think I'm pretty good at taking care of business, so long as it's interesting.
[Whatever business that may be.]

[Axel can't see him nod, but he does regardless.] You got it. I like to think I'm pretty good at matching people to the right jobs, so. We'll see if I get any other biters.

Just keep me in the loop, then. I like to take it easy, but I hate being bored.
