It's hard to say actually, some people never get one. [Very rare, but got to give the guy some hope!] Then others have them more often. I try not to think too much on things without any rhyme or reason. I tend to leave that to smarter people.

That's usually my play, but all the smart people I know sans one are back home, and he doesn't bloody remember me.

[ so he doesn't really have anyone to rely on but himself. the other allies he supposedly has (agent carter, the avengers) are unknown quantities who could potentially cause him more harm than good, so. ]

[ it sucks. he was so happy for about 5 seconds when he saw fitz - it's the best person he could have seen, him or coulson. they're the only two he feels he can trust with being on his side in regards to the other shield which means they're the only two he feels he can let go of all that crap around and focus on the task at hand. and fitz is brilliant, if anyone can figure out a way out of this mess it's fitz - particularly if his mind is clear.

except fitz has no idea who he is or the crap they keep going through and he has had it up to whatever counts as an exaggeratedly illustrative high when you're in space with things going wrong. ]

Any advice for a newcomer?

The way stations we come across? Whatever you do... don't eat the sandwiches in the vending machines. Unless you enjoy sitting on the toilet for the next three weeks.
