[Laura turned as Velvet entered, and immediately heard that increase in heart rate just before a...sneeze. Though the dark haired girl seemed to hold it off for now.]
You are allergic.
[Well crap.]

[It's not a denial, but she doesn't want to make a big deal of it. She'd been through a lot of crap in her life, she wasn't going to let a stupid allergy slow her down.]

[She didn't believe her at all, really.]
I will make sure her fur does not get left anywhere.
[Meanwhile, the little kitten was prowling her way towards Velvet, oblivious to the danger of daemon sneezes!]

She sniffles and side steps the kitten, eyeing it warily.]
Yeah, okay. Good.
no subject
...She likes you.
[It's a guess. But the kitten seemed to like everyone so far.]
no subject
She probably shouldn't.
[Because Velvet is a daemon. And also because why like someone who is obviously trying to avoid you. But that's not cat logic, and she knows it. Cat logic doesn't work that way.]

[Laura started after them both, but not before the kitten suddenly put on a little burst of speed and closed the space between her and Velvet, hopping onto her metal shoe with a little meow of triumph.]
She likes shoes, though.
[Laura just sighs.]
no subject
Uh. Can you get her?
[She kind of pushes her kitten-clad foot out toward Laura. The movement is a little awkward, because she is trying not to be rough, while also wanting to retreat in the opposite direction, because she can feel another sneeze coming on.]

I was told they know when people are allergic to them.
no subject
Yeah? I guess they aren't inclined to be considerate about it.
[Then again, cats probably just don't think that way.]
no subject
[Which wasn't to say Laura didn't think animals could be considerate. But that wasn't something most people thought, and it functioned as a decent 'explanation.' She set the kitten down on a tall set of boxes, tall enough the little creature seemed wary to jump off, and instead just started prowling around the edges.]
I have been trying to teach her but cats do not train easily.
[Or at all.]
