[Video] Complaint #1

Who: Edna and You
Broadcast: Oh yes
Action: on the Marsiva
When: today

[Being warm and comfortable is nice for half a second, but Edna has never needed to sleep in her life. Sure, resting is great and all, especially after a long and hard fight, but still not necessary. And waking up has never been difficult for her. Until now.

She rolls over and stretches, a booted foot sticking out of the blankets as her gloved hand covers a yawn that would put a man five times her size to shame. One blue eye cracks open before the other and she slowly rotates her head over.

And sees a black sky sprinkled with stars. Too many stars. That's when she sits up and looks around, frowning as she sees the sterile metal....things everywhere.]

Where's my mountain?

[Her hands pat around her, looking for her umbrella, and come up empty. Her voice and face definitely let anyone who can see her over the comm know that she is Not Happy. Sadly all that comes through is her voice, and the movements she makes on the bed. So, beware of ghosts.]

Alright, Meebo, you can give my umbrella back. You have five seconds.

[Action]

[For those with high spiritual resonance, they will see a tiny girl who is stomping around the Marsiva, looking as if she can murder anything or one who gets in her way. Her footsteps are much heavier than someone of her size should be able to generate, but that's not stopping her.]

[Despite being so naive, Eleanor's starting to get an idea of the bigger picture here.]

I'm not sure what a Seraph is, either, but if 'Meebo' is your friend, you should treat him with more respect.
nerdeology: (...why would you ask me that)

[personal profile] nerdeology 2017-05-03 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
[UUUUUUUUUUUGH he really regrets getting in the middle of this, now.]

A seraph is a malak, if you find that term more familiar. And there's no point in telling her something like that, because she'll just ignore it.

There's no harm in trying, is there? [Yes, yes there is.]

[And even if it's not her business, she's not opposed to intervening in other people's, either. At least, she isn't until something more interesting comes up.]

I think we may be from the same planet, then. My name is Eleanor Hume, it's nice to meet you.
nerdeology: (sorey stop)

[oh, you poor girl. You're dooming yourself more and more with every word.

He's gonna follow his own advice and ignore her, though. She's just trying to rile him up 8( ]

I'm Mikleo, and this is Edna. Likewise.

[Though if she's human and knows seraphim as malakhim, why's she being so friendly?]

[Well that's...rude and uncalled for, but Eleanor is going to try to do her best not to acknowledge or to let it bother her.]

It's nice to meet the both of you.

[A few more pieces click to place. Edna? Malak?]

Edna, you wouldn't happen to be Eizen's sister, would you?
nerdeology: (do you think dezel would know?)

[personal profile] nerdeology 2017-05-05 05:15 am (UTC)(link)
[oh god she mentioned Eizen, this really is going to be a shitshow of a conversation, isn't it?

He kind of doesn't want to ask, but...]

You're acquainted with Eizen?
humene: (smug)

[personal profile] humene 2017-05-07 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
[This is more intense than she expected, but considering how protective Eizen is of Edna, not unsurprising.]

He's a good friend of mine. We traveled together a few months back.

[Time? What's time?]
nerdeology: (no the other one)

[personal profile] nerdeology 2017-05-08 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
[Well, at least she takes it in stride.]

I see... so you're also from the past.

The past?

[Well, you've got her there. She's genuinely confused. And also, full of regret. Eleanor can't even respond to that naive comment because she knows it's true.]

Actually, I was an exorcist. I worked with Eizen and Velvet to take down Artorius.

[exorcist

Months ago, that word would have meant very little to him- he'd associate it more with Allen, nothing to do with their world. But conversations with Zaveid, with Eizen, with Velvet... everything's different now. Though his face isn't visible over the communicator, his tone has definitely changed- surprise, and a degree of caution that wasn't there before.]

Why would an exorcist be cooperating with a malak against their own leader?

[And since when were malakhim people to exorcists, let alone friends?]

[The anger in Edna's voice is palpable, and Eleanor can't blame her. The Abbey had done a lot to the Malakhim under the guise of the greater good, and there was a time that Eleanor had been no different.]

[But part of atoning is facing the past, and working towards a solution. As painful as it is, the only thing she can do now is accept her sins and find her own path.]

Yes, I know it must sound strange. There was a time when I was against Velvet's group, too, until Eizen and Laphicet helped me understand just how badly the exorcists were extorting the malakhim.

[She sighs. It's tempting to look away, but she can't. Even if she can't see who she's speaking to, she at least owes them some sincerity.]

Even if Artorious was the leader of the Abbey at the time, his actions were unforgivable. We should be working for a better future for all, malak and human alike.
nerdeology: (or you'll answer to me)

[personal profile] nerdeology 2017-05-24 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
[Well it definitely is strange, but with Velvet and Eizen both here, her story would be pretty easy to corroborate. No sense in being nasty to her unless she's caught in a lie later. Then all bets are off.]

...I suppose I can see the logic of that. If he'd succeeded, you'd have lost your will along with the rest of the humans, right? So at the very least, it'd be a self-serving decision.

[Until she's proven to be trustworthy, that's the most credit he can offer her. The word exorcist still kinda stings, and no doubt it's even worse for Edna, seeing as she was around for that era.]
