[Video] Complaint #1
Who: Edna and You
Broadcast: Oh yes
Action: on the Marsiva
When: today
[Video]
[Being warm and comfortable is nice for half a second, but Edna has never needed to sleep in her life. Sure, resting is great and all, especially after a long and hard fight, but still not necessary. And waking up has never been difficult for her. Until now.
She rolls over and stretches, a booted foot sticking out of the blankets as her gloved hand covers a yawn that would put a man five times her size to shame. One blue eye cracks open before the other and she slowly rotates her head over.
And sees a black sky sprinkled with stars. Too many stars. That's when she sits up and looks around, frowning as she sees the sterile metal....things everywhere.]
Where's my mountain?
[Her hands pat around her, looking for her umbrella, and come up empty. Her voice and face definitely let anyone who can see her over the comm know that she is Not Happy. Sadly all that comes through is her voice, and the movements she makes on the bed. So, beware of ghosts.]
Alright, Meebo, you can give my umbrella back. You have five seconds.
[Action]
[For those with high spiritual resonance, they will see a tiny girl who is stomping around the Marsiva, looking as if she can murder anything or one who gets in her way. Her footsteps are much heavier than someone of her size should be able to generate, but that's not stopping her.]

[It's the truth. There are all sorts of people in the fleet, and the technology is weird. It's hard to know what to expect. When she uses the word resonance, though, Velvet has an even better idea of what's going on.]
So, you're a malak? Or seraph. [She still has to remind herself to use the newer term.]
no subject
Not to mention the Daemon running rampant.]
Both, I suppose. [She sneers as she regains her balance and it shows in her voice.]
Only I've never been stupid enough to be tethered like a pet or abused like a toy.
no subject
Right. You sound pretty angry.
[It doesn't sound like Velvet blames her, though]
I don't suppose you have a brother who's a pirate.
[She certainly sounds like someone who could handle having the Reaper as a brother. She also sounds like someone who'd be willing to call Eizen an idiot.]
no subject
Yeah, well, must be nice to be an Earth Dweller and not have to worry about the others of your kind being used and thrown away like they don't have lives of their own. Malakim and Seraphim aren't just things for any idiot on the planet to see and use. Not even everyone with resonance needs that.
I mean, how would you like it if I put a tether on you that took away your will to do anything at all for yourself.
[And while Velvet might be sympathetic, Edna doesn't exactly care. If she thought Eizen and Zaveid were angry about it when she met them.... Well... Edna's just cranky about a lot of things.]
What's it to you?
[Sorry, she doesn't know you. She's not talking about Eizen. But now she's curious since she never mentioned Eizen's choice of lifestyle to anyone.]
no subject
I never said you didn't have good reason to be angry.
[There are lots of reasons to hate the abbey, really.
She shrugs a little at the question.]
Just curious. Eizen's mad about all those things, too.
[Really, she just wanted to know if her guess was right, but if Edna doesn't want to talk about it, Velvet will probably let it drop.]
no subject
Anyone who's ever had to deal with the stupid church or their pathetic Abbey has a good enough reason to be mad. They're all filled with liars and jerks anyway.
[Yes, she means that for the present tense too.
Most of the Church of Rolance tbh.]Eizen's a moron, but he's not wrong about those things sucking.
[There's your confirmation.]

[Her tone is cold as she addresses the comment about the abbey. Though the coldness isn't really directed at Edna. It's more like commiseration. Velvet knows very well just how awful the abbey is.
After a moment her tone lightens, though. And she scoffs softly.]
I'm glad he was telling the truth when he said you called him an idiot.
no subject
[Edna knows that Velvet's not being cranky at her. She's cranky herself and has been for a while regarding humans.]
I've called him a lot of things. He's my brother. You must be one of his pirates.
no subject
[Velvet knows that Eizen told Edna about her and the rest of the crew, but she's actually not sure what exactly he told her. She still doesn't consider herself a pirate, really, even though she's been traveling and working with Eizen and his pirates for awhile. It's useful to her, but she doesn't have the passion for it that Eizen does.]
We've just been working together toward a common goal.
no subject
Is this in his grand mission to find his pirate friend then? He never told me much about them, but it doesn't take a genius to know that he was traveling around with Aifread and his crew of pirates around the time he sent me that letter with that stupid Normin.
[Please tell her that you know about Phoenix and find him annoying too.]
He might be an idiot, but I'm not.
no subject
[She might sound vaguely bemused, just because she's not sure what Eizen told her about that.
She snorts a little.]
Not too fond of Phoenix, huh.
no subject
[Edna's not amused. Eizen tells her nothing about what he's doing. He writes her enough letters to flood the entirety of Glenwood in paper, but he doesn't actually tell her anything about what he does with his group of pirates.
Hell, it took her four years to tell her about the pirates at all.]
Phoenix is like that annoying guard dog that you put up with but don't need or want.
no subject
[So that sounds about right.]
no subject
[Because with a name like Bienfu, he has to be a Normin.]
They're only about half right and they're always annoying, even if they aren't complete idiots.
[There's a reason she's got a long list of complaints against them.]
no subject
[Bienfu was pretty annoying, it's true, but Grim, while eccentric was pretty instrumental in figuring out what Artorius was up to.]

[That's...honestly kind of impressive.]

[Velvet really only paid attention to the ones that were useful to her.]

[Blah, blah, blah. Freedom. Blah.]

You're not missing anything. Just a lot of boring talk about Normin Oppression.
no subject
[The Lord of Calamity is clearly full of compassion for the Normin plight.]
