[Being warm and comfortable is nice for half a second, but Edna has never needed to sleep in her life. Sure, resting is great and all, especially after a long and hard fight, but still not necessary. And waking up has never been difficult for her. Until now.

She rolls over and stretches, a booted foot sticking out of the blankets as her gloved hand covers a yawn that would put a man five times her size to shame. One blue eye cracks open before the other and she slowly rotates her head over.

And sees a black sky sprinkled with stars. Too many stars. That's when she sits up and looks around, frowning as she sees the sterile metal....things everywhere.]

Where's my mountain?

[Her hands pat around her, looking for her umbrella, and come up empty. Her voice and face definitely let anyone who can see her over the comm know that she is Not Happy. Sadly all that comes through is her voice, and the movements she makes on the bed. So, beware of ghosts.]

Alright, Meebo, you can give my umbrella back. You have five seconds.

[For those with high spiritual resonance, they will see a tiny girl who is stomping around the Marsiva, looking as if she can murder anything or one who gets in her way. Her footsteps are much heavier than someone of her size should be able to generate, but that's not stopping her.]

[Like on his feet. But Sorey and Mikleo are two things that Edna and Zaveid will always agree on. They're both crazy about those two nerds.]

He lies. To protect me and my feelings, but he's a liar. You might be a gross pervert that withholds information sometimes, but you don't lie to me.

[ Stomp, stomp, like an angry earthquake. Still... He breathes out sharply. ]

[Isn't that why the dork squad wanted her to join them in the first place? To be the steady, calm sense of reason?

She takes a shaky breath at the word 'promise'. Now that she knows what the two idiots planned between them, she's angrier at Eizen than ever before.]

Well, that's good to know. I'm sure he can rest easier now that we took care of his mess.

And as stubborn as the earth, too...

[ But he's saying it fondly - because she is consistent and she is stubborn but she's also proud and wonderful at the same time.

Still... He knows this isn't easy for her, and it sure as hell isn't easy for Eizen, either, with as much as Zaveid's been avoiding him. ]

Hey. He hasn't become a dragon in his world yet. He doesn't really get it.

What did you expect? I'm an Earth Seraph. Not all of us can be flighty jerks and zip around doing whatever the hell we want.

[And, well, she is as fond of Zaveid as she is of the nerds and Lailah. She just won't tell him. Not her style. He might be flighty and obnoxious, but he's never lied to her. And that counts for a lot with her.]

Do you think I give a crap about him not being a dragon yet? He... [Her voice cracks from rage.] He knew and he planned ahead and stayed away until he was a monster! He made that choice, he can suffer the consequences of it.

[ Zaveid breathes out a sharp noise before his arms cross his chest, bowing his head. He's tucking into himself, even if no one can see him do it. ]

... You don't get it. It's not that easy, Edna. Knowing you're gonna turn into a monster, knowing it's gonna happen... Do you have any idea how much malevolence he was carrying? I was around him, y'know. I saw what it did to him.

[ This isn't easy, and he already wants to quit. ]

Seeing someone you love turn into a dragon? That's worse than seeing them already like it. There's nothing you can do, nothing you can say, and you watch as they stop knowing who you are. Yeah, Eizen was selfish, he's an asshole, but he did you a favour, too. There are some nightmares you don't get over, Edna, and that's one of them.

What favor did he do me? I watched him leave me alone for hundreds of years before anything happened to him and then he came back to the mountain a monster?!

[The tears are back and she isn't bothering to temper her voice's level or to stem the tide of hurt.]

I NEVER GOT TO SAY GOODBYE! HE SPENT ALL THE REST OF HIS TIME WITH YOU!

You.... don't.... know.... anything.

[ Zaveid's teeth clench and his nails are digging into his hands and he wants to throw up, but he manages it. at least he can shove a private filter over this, considering he's got the augment for it. ]

And all he ever thought about was you. Always. Every second of his life was about you - what letters to write you, what gifts to send you, places he thought you'd like. It doesn't matter how long we spent together, Edna, the only person he cared about was the person he was too damn scared to go and see.

[ But Zaveid can understand that fear. He'd seen it in Theodora, he'd seen it in Silva, and he'd seen it bare in Eizen and Mikleo's faces too. ]

I know exactly what it's like to see the one person you love most get taken away from you. I know.

[She doesn't know anything about this stupid filter and she doesn't care either. She has to say it and especially to Zaveid of all people.]

I. Don't. Care. He wasn't there. He left me alone and I waited and waited and waited and what did I get? I GOT A DRAGON WHO TRIED TO EAT ME!

I hate him. I hate you. I hate everything. I hate.... I hate it all. I just wanted my stupid brother and he just left.

I know. He tried to eat me too.

[ Zaveid's voice is just... Quiet, now, and sad. There's nothing there but pain. ]

Theodora tried to eat me too. Kicked my ass around as well, beat me to hell and back. I laughed it off because she always had a temper before she became a dragon, but it hurt. Every time she looked at me and didn't recognise me... I thought I was gonna die.

[ He doesn't want to do this. He doesn't want to... Feel like this. ]

Be angry at him. Go ahead, I'm not gonna tell you to stop. He deserves it. But... He's here now, too. I don't want either of you to lose each other when you've got a chance to be together again.

[She is unable to form words for a few long minutes. But she hears every word, every inflection of pain in his voice. Even being unable to see his stupid face, she knows that he is hurting by talking about this.

And she's never heard this story before, doesn't know about this Theodora, but she isn't the monster that she let's everyone think she is.

She takes a shaky breath and then speaks, not as angry but definitely still hurt and a little bit selfish.]

I never said I wasn't going to talk to him. He deserves a lot of things, but he's still my moronic brother. And you... you still belong to us.

Even if we hate each other, even if you're gross and I'm mean....You're not allowed to go away again.

[ None of this is easy, for either of them, and the idea of it all... Hurts. Zaveid has already had to come face to face with Eizen and he's taken to avoiding him - just because it was easier than actually dealing with him and the heartache in his chest. Now he has to face Edna and Eizen with a whole world of stories behind him and it feels a little like too much.

As least she understands. All of them do, now, with what happened to Mikleo, and he wonders if she's heard about that yet, if she knows the horrors that took place here long before she turned up.

He's not gonna tell her. ]

[ He's grinning, trying to ease the tension of the situation. ]

Sounds like a marriage proposal, Edna...

I take it all back.

[ He just laughs at her, loudly. ]

Gotta catch me first!

[Even if he is the most annoying person she knows, she can't help but smile. They'd been having a heavy, horrible conversation and somehow he can bounce back and laugh.

He's really good at hiding, but she's stubborn.]

I can wait. Your hot air will run out eventually.

[ It's a good thing he's not scared of her... Much. ]
