[ Oh! Maglor knows Sam, so he'll do just that, dropping by ]

Good day, is Sam around?

[Well, she's seen Maglor a few times over the past months, but she didn't know he was on good terms with Sam. But that's a good surprise. Nami grins cheerfully as she glances over.]

He's on a break, but if you want to wait around he's due back in a few minutes. Drink?

[bythewaves]

[ He smiles and bows slightly, hopping up onto one of the empty stools ]

Thank you, I would not mind one. I can wait - he does not know me well, so I doubt he would be expecting me.

[namisan]

Sam will no doubt not be expecting anyone, even if he did hear my announcement. [Dryly. Sam tends to live like he's in a vacuum sometimes. She pours Maglor a drink-- she may not know him well or at all, but a good bartender knows what her customers order.]

Here you go. I'm Nami.

[ He smiles at her in thanks for the wine and bows a little ]

Nami - well met! Maglor, at your service. He was kind to me, and my brother is fond of him, although I doubt Maedhros will visit, he remains too skittish for that.

He'll definitely appreciate that you came by, even if he acts exasperated about it. [Even if it's fond exasperation, yeah Sam I see that tag.] He's probably mad at me for pulling such a trick.

[The grin on her face says she doesn't care.]

[ Maglor laughs softly ] He is like my brother, in that way. But I am sure he appreciates most of all the effort that you made to remember.

[She's not sure on that. Not after their many conversations. But oh well, Nami would really rather he have some fun on his birthday for once.]

Birthdays should stand out. I mean, at least until you hit a certain age, anyway.

[ Maglor raises an amused eyebrow at her ]

Oh? And what might that age be?

[namisan]

It depends, I suppose. The point you want to stop being reminded of how old you are. It differs for everyone.

[bythewaves]

[ He chuckles softly ]

I see - I suppose friends would also see that age differently to oneself, also?

[namisan]

I'd say so. But everyone should have a celebration on their birthday at least once, right? {She knows where that line of questioning may lead.]

He's lucky I didn't throw him an outright party, to be honest.

Hm, including yourself, Lady?

[ Maglor laughs ]

Perhaps we should, although I admit, I do not know what he would enjoy.

[Eventually Sam does stop in, though he's clearly exasperated (in a fond way, promise) with the bar's sights being set on him today. He offers Maglor a friendly smile as he goes behind the bar, and expects him to just be ordering as if nothing were up.

Ha. He shakes his head, humored.]

Hey there. Here for a quick drink?

Sam. [ Maglor looks up and smiles when he comes in ]

Yes, I think so. Will you join me or do you have to go to work? I wanted to wish you a Happy Birthday, but then I realised I do not know what Men of your time do to celebrate.

[ He shrugs a little sheepishly ] So I thought I could at least buy you a drink.

[Ah, shucks. He rubs the back of his head, self-conscious but complimented by the elf's words.]

To be honest, I don't really celebrate it much.

But that's more -- being too busy, I guess...

[His family's never been that flashy at holidays or birthdays, anyway.]

Lady Nami said as much. [ He smiles back ]

But I thought it a shame if I did not, at least, do some small thing. You have helped my brother a good deal, and I am very grateful.

[He smiles a bit, shaking his head.]

I'm sure you help him plenty more. But thanks.

I try. But I have not ... had the sort of experiences, that you and he share. I think you help him more than you know.

And I do well enough, thank you Sam. What of your own well being?

Helping in general's always been his goal. In whatever the hell he's doing.]

I'm doing alright. I mean, not including the nosy bar owner around here giving me away.

[ Maglor laughs softly ]

The two of you seem very good friends indeed. Like siblings almost.

Yeah. I guess we're kinda like that, huh?

Nami's helped me a lot, over the years. Before we ever showed up here, even.

She's good to have on your side.

We did actually, yeah. Believe it or not, we've been trapped in a place outside of our world before; this is actually kind of... really familiar for us? Just with less outer space.
