[The feed opens on Seymour, obviously struggling to get the communicator to work. It takes him a few good seconds to realize he's live, and he looks a little sheepish as he speaks.]

Um, hey everyone, I have a question. So I was on one of those asteroids the other day, and I think I was talking to myself about something, I dunno. But people kept giving me money and I heard them saying that I was singing? But I wasn't singing at all.

Does singing mean something else down there? I would have just shrugged it off as someone being drunk if it was just one person, but at least five people came up to me just today.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy I have more money now, but I'm kinda freaking out about this.

...I really hope this thing is working right…

[Billy clicks his feed on for a moment, then realizes that it's rather silly when they're both on the same ship, and maybe not something Seymour necessarily wants to talk about in front of everyone. So he approaches with his usual awkward smile.]

Hi, I got your message! We haven't really toured the asteroids together, but maybe we can resolve this?

I have heard a male voice singing near the laboratory now and then. It's definitely not Ardyn, it can't be me, and I don't think it's Carl...

Well... I guess I do hum to myself sometimes when tending to the plants, maybe that's what you're hearing?

Well...yes, sort of. But there are words as well. And words with a musical lilt are singing.

[Seymour starts feeling a little uneasy as he realizes the implications Billy is making there.]

But I feel like I would have remembered something like that. People don't just sing and not realize it

...well, I've never heard of it happening before, but we're dealing with unprecedented territory. Maybe it's a quirk of your implant?

That's probably it, I've would have heard some complaints if I did it at home.

But does that kind of thing happen? I guess of all things to happen because of this [gestures to his implant.] it could be worse, but it's creepy.

From what I've heard, there's a range of effects. People have gained and lost abilities, years of their lives, spoken language, memories...

[He shudders. That's his least favorite possibility.]

The sponsors should increase your pay for that, at the least.

Why didn't anyone tell me this earlier?

[He says as if money for compensation is an unusual thing to do.]

Well...it doesn't work like that, I don't believe, but you're paid more whenever you're more entertaining to the audience. And I believe singing counts as entertainment.

Oh. [That's more understandable.] I guess I can get more money at least, but I still wish there was some way to get them to get rid of... this thing.

[Points to his implant, but he just means the singing thing.]

From what I've researched...unusual effects like that are sometimes permanent, but just as often not. You might be free of it soon enough.

I could just... randomly sing for the rest of my life and not even be aware of it?

It's possible...at least, until we find a way to reverse it. Whatever the Atroma's done can be undone with the proper knowledge, it has to be. It just might take a lot to do that research.

[Sighs.]

I guess I can wait at least. Are you sure this doesn't bug you?
