[Prompto has been desperate for space. Not outer space - room space. He needs to move. The Bishop is okay, but it's not ideal. And anyway, he hasn't made much effort to get to know his crewmates. He doesn't want to annoying them with his constant bouncing and shuffling. The treadmill in the cargo hold lasted all of three days before the boredom got to him.

Which is how he finds himself on the Iskaulit. It's much bigger, and that's perfect.]

Awesome.

[He picks an out of the way area to do a little warm-up stretching. It would be nice to run - and not because something was trying to kill him.]

_{[Yuri was in much the same boat. He'd tried dancing on his own in the common areas but that ended in more than one startled crewmate and it didn't have much space to begin with... he was just in the way so he decided to find a new space. He wasn't about the cramped cargo hold with the treadmill, though that would work in a pinch. He wanted to use something else, somewhere bigger.

He had come to the Iskaulit looking for a dance hall but he was so impressed with the large corridors he knew he'd already found his exercise area. He too was stretching and getting ready to run. He had his music player in his gym bag when he arrived so he popped the buds in his ears and began running. He had old show songs going, old music from Victor's shows, from his old show, Yuri, On Ice, On Love: Eros... the things that made him think of home and helped him not panic being in this void.

And it worked! it worked so well he was zoned out and running headlong into a new person. He realized it before he crashed into the guy--girl-- person but that didn't mean he could stop. He flailed and tried to sidestep but to unknown results.]}

YAAAAGH! OH NO!

[Prompto didn't have an excuse. He even heard the footfalls, and only turned to see who was approaching just before the inevitable collision. Unfortunately, he had trouble staying upright under even the best of circumstances. This? He didn't stand a chance.]

Aw, crap.

[He went down in a heap of limbs. Fortunately, he was accustomed to falling, and wiggled up into a seated position right away, rubbing the back of his head.]

Ow. Hey, you okay, buddy?

_{[And they go down. Dangit. At least Yuri was used to falling. Any skater who got to his level was used to falling on hard ice. It was part of the sport. He didn't groan when they landed, he was already scrambling to get up and look over his poor victim.]}

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry, that was completely my fault! I'm fine, are you okay? Oh geez... how embarrassing.

Nah, don't worry about it. I'm fine. I should have picked a better space to stretch.

[He stops rubbing his head, starts fixing his hair instead, as if that had been his goal all along. Standing, he offers a hand up to the other.]

No harm, no foul. What's got you in a hurry, anyway?

I should have picked a better place to run, this hallway is big enough...

_{[He sees that hand and takes it slowly. This guy was nice... he could be should be yelling at him. He knocked him over so hard he messed his hair up!]}

Thanks... oh, I'm not in a hurry. I was just running, part of my exercise. I was listening to music and not paying attention to where I was going. I zoned out.

Hallways are deceptive.

[Yelling is mean. Anyway, there's enough product in his hair, it could double as a helmet.]

Oh. You run? For fun? 'Cause, I do too...

_{[Hallways are... oh he's giving him a break. That was a funny joke though, Yuri laughs anyway. Not a fake one, a real one... maybe he was just so tense lately after being kidnapped here that anything would make him laugh but he needed that.

Yeah, that was some impressive hair but he'd seen worse. Far far worse on the ice. This guy's was interesting, at least.]}

Oh, fun I guess, but really I have to train every day. I'm a figure skater, I have to keep my workouts up... you run too? Oh was.... was that what you were doing when I ran into you?

[He wasn't expecting the laugh. It makes him smile big and broad in return. Good. This is good. No sad faces.]

Figure skater. That's cool. I just do it for, you know, health. Started when I was younger. [He shrugs.] I was getting ready to. There's a lot more room here than on the other ships.

Yeah, I noticed. I couldn't handle the treadmill on the Twin Roses. I'd be so bored. So I found this place, you can really spread out. I want to find the dance studio here too. I heard we had one. I could really use it since we don't have an ice rink.

I'm a competitive skater so I have to stay in top form while I'm here... but that's great that you run! It's fun once you get the hang of doing it for long periods of time.

But ah, you must want some space to get your run started without clumsy me here.

I gave up on the treadmill. So boring.. Didn't know there was a dance studio though.

[It's like looking a mirror (aside from looking absolutely nothing alike, and the figure skating thing.) But he agrees! With all of it.]

Oh, yeah. Um, I guess. Though, if you want some company...? If you want. No pressure! I could help you find that dance studio?

Oh, I just heard about it. I haven't actually been there but you should come with me there! Yeah, we can find it together!

Do you dance at all?

Oh my god. Where are my manners? I'm Yuri Katsuki! I live on the Twin Roses now and I am so sorry about running into you! _{[he claps his hands to the front of his legs and bows, blushing]}

[And Prompto thought he was a rambler. He grinned, waving his hands because why would anyone bow to him? He's not royalty!]

It's fine! Don't worry about it! Um, I'm Prompto. Argentum. They stuck me on the Bishop.

How about we find that studio for you. Because, no, I do not dance. I'm more grace, grace, fall on your face, you know?

_{[He doesn't mean to prattle on, he just... gets nervous around people. Forgive him. And he has no idea about any royalty, he's just a guy. There aren't magical princes in his world.]}

Prompto Argentum... I'll remember that one. The Bishop. Okay.

Huh? Ahaha! That's a funny way to say it but I am sure you can learn, Victor and I can work with you on it if you want to. It's what we're going to do while we try to make a skating rink happen.

[Magical princes sleep a lot. You're not missing out on much, dude.]

I guess it couldn't hurt to try. Victor's a friend of yours?

[Are we running or chatting? Let's do both!]

Is that what you do back home? Ice skate?

_{[Magical princes would blow Yuri away, honestly.][He blushes here]} We're engaged.

_{[Both! Both is good!]}

Uh, yeah. We're both competitive skaters. I went to college and finished but... that's about all I'm good for. _{[And he proved he IS good at it. He won silver after all, even if Victor had to practically drag him over the finish line.]}

Oh. Congratulations.

[Good. Running. Nice, steady pace.]

That's really cool. Is that how you guys met?

[He knows how it is to feel like you're only good at one thing, so he'll just leave that one alone.]

_{[Well they have that in common, only being good at one thing. Except Yuri doesn't think he's great at skating. Yurio is better than him and despite the new world record, Victor will always be better than him. He just radiates excellence.]}

Ah... well I idolized him before, he's the one who inspired me to start skating. I wanted to be just like him... we did meet by skating. He actually became my coach and things... went from there.

Have you met him here?

Sounds like one hell of story to tell the grandkids some day.

[He throws a wink over.]

I have not. I haven't met a whole lot of people yet, but I'm working on it.

[He did tell Ignis he would find some friends. For Noctis.]

Huh? Oh, oh yeah... grandkids. Gosh, I have no idea... we just got engaged, it's still not even real to me....

_{[Prompto's wink makes him blush. Dangit why must he be so sensitive to things like this with Victor??]}

Well, you met me now. Right? I can introduce you. Victor and I could use a network. I'm not scary and I think we all need to band together. We're all we have out in space like this.

Right!

[Banding together was a good idea. Though with characters like Ardyn roaming around, he wasn't so sure he wanted to join forces with "all".]

I would love to meet Victor. And I can introduce you to my pals. Unless you already know them.

[It isn't often that he sees someone out stretching outside of the gym, so this new guy catches his attention. Doudanuki was on his way to the training room, a towel tossed over his shoulder, but otherwise still wearing his usual black armor. He still hasn't managed to buy a good jersey here, for all that the jumpsuits sort of take their place.]

If you're lookin' for the gym, you're in the wrong area.

[He pauses, hands in the air, head tilting.]

Oh, I wasn't. I'm just ... I was going to run. There's a gym here?

Yeah?

[This guy must be new then if he didn't know about the gym. That being said, it wasn't like it was a training dojo like he was used to at all, but it at least let him weight lift sometimes. He shifts his weight to his other leg and tilts his head, too.]

So you're just gonna take a run around the Iskaulit? You want a running partner?

[Fairly new. New enough to not know where everything is yet. A gym could be good - shake things up a bit. Maybe he could work out some kind of routine.]

Uh, yeah! That was the plan! [He smiled.] Are you offering?

[Prompto may notice he's not alone in his endeavor -- no, in fact, Takeshi is doing his own warm-ups, too! The child, decked out in some strange black latex-like suit under his kid clothes, is running around the room in a jogging circle, doing his routine cardio of the day; the eight-year-old's been determined to keep himself active, moving, getting better and stronger!

Behind him, a clumsy panda runs after him along the ground, or tries to, anyway. It's a young little fella, still small enough to pick up and drag around in Takeshi's arms, and every so often he yips in complaint at his momdadowner as he runs along faster than him.]

C'mon Hoi Hoi, you gotta learn by yourself!! I can't always hold you!

[That is adorable. He whips out his camera and takes a few pictures before looking around for some adult figure. Is the kid here alone? He approaches.]

Hey, there. Getting some exercise in, huh?

[He stops where he's running, and proceeds to jog in place — all while dodging panda paws carefully.]

That's right, sir! It's important to always be ready for anything that gets thrown at us!!

[NOD, NOD.]

And I eat way too much peanut butter!! So I gotta exercise a lot or I'll turn into a potato!

[He smiles indulgently, squatting down to the kid's level]

It is important to stay healthy. Are you here by yourself? What's your name?

[The eight-year-old seems more than content with the new company, offering a sunny grin.]

I'm Takeshi, mister, captain of the SS Goldstone! It's nice to meet you.

I come here by myself, mostly because I don't get real, real distracted.

It's nice to meet you too. My name is Prompto.

You're a captain? That's really impressive. How old are you?

Eight years old, Mr. Prompto!

[He holds up four fingers on each hand.]

I was about four or five when I came to space, I think. And I've been here ever since!

That's a good age.

[Mr. Prompto. That's adorable.]

That's three or four years. You've been here that long?

Not on this ship! But I've been here for a year now, I think.

[He gives a nod, sure of himself.]

I lived on another ship before. Not on the fleet. It was called the Tranquility! And it was as big as a whole city!

That's ... that's pretty big. Were you a captain there too?

Oh, no, I was a moral officer!

I made sure people felt better, 'cus a lot of really scary things happened there a lot.

Sounds like quite the responsibility. [And he sympathizes.]

What kind of scary things?

Big, angry rats! Like this big!

[He holds up his hands, showing the rats to be at least a good two feet long.]

And manticores! D'you know what those are?

Heh. Gross.

[Small rats were bad enough.]

Sounds like something from a video game. But no, can't say I've met one for real.

[Or maybe he has. They've fought all kinds of weird stuff since leaving the city, a lot of monsters he didn't know the name of.]

They're pretty freaky. I had to fight 'em when I was trapped in some hallways...

I think -- I think that's why I like this place, even if it's bad sometimes. It's... quieter. People don't gotta worry about things on the ship trying to hurt them. Most of the time, anyways.
