[Some of the the crew have been in and out of trouble again in the last month or so, including one probably rather banged up shuttle, but a new month draws nears and with new crew members to get to know.

[Kaidan's day to day tasks are not at all important enough to consider the interruption from Barry a bother. Getting to know the crew seems more important to him, in the long scheme of things. His task at the moment is cleaning the weapons in the armory, but he puts down the gun and rag the second he hears the voice.]

Good to have you aboard. [For multiple reasons, but they'll get to that eventually. With a small smile, Kaidan offers a hand]

Do you prefer Barry, or Allen?

Barry's perfect.

[He reaches forward to shake Kaidan's hand.]

For some reason, the last name thing never really caught up, other than at work, but I work with cops, so.

[Last names are kind of their default.]

[That gets Barry a small rasp of a laugh as he shakes his hand]

I know a little of what that's like. What do you do for the police?

[supertardiness]

I'm a CSI. Basically I process evidence and help the detectives solve their cases.

[bi_otic]

Right. So...you'd be more of a scientist than a doctor, then?

[supertardiness]

Oh yeah. I'm way too squeamish around those kinds of injuries for the doctor thing.

[Caitlin Snow gets so much credit for keeping him alive and being more badass than all of them.]

Ah. [Time to keep looking :(] Well, I'm sure your skills will come in handy either way.

[supertardiness]

Here's hoping. I prefer to pull my own weight when I can.

Don't worry about it too much. I won't lie and say things haven't gotten dangerous around here a few times, but it's mostly contained to the some of the places we end up visiting. When you're on this ship, at least, I'll do everything I can to keep you safe.
