[This was not his bunk, and he was not getting woken up in the manner he normally did; which was three hungry kitten voices complaining Remy hadn’t gotten up early enough to feed them. It was rather nice actually, getting to sleep in a bit without the sounds of others moving around the ship or pets bouncing around outside his door and running up and down the halls. Though if he thought about it, Remy would think it was all too quiet…

Peeking an eye open and letting it search around, he quickly recognized this as not his room on the Wonderduck, or Kirk’s on the Tourist. It was a room he hadn’t seen for quite some time; the Marsiva, and that, that didn’t make sense. Pushing himself upright to sit on the bunch, he ran a hand through his hair to try and move it into something resembling neatness while his other went searching for his com. Giving into his vanity and taking a moment to make sure he was semi presentable, he hit the buttons to send out a video.]

So, did I miss a notice or something ‘bout us switching up ships? Would be nice if they gave us some warnin’ rather than movin’ us ‘round places. Also ‘ssume m’ three brats be stored ‘way somewhere safe, guessin’ the pet clinic on here. 'til I know what's goin' on, think will be makin' most of the coffee on board.

I am, yes. [Does this club have meetings? Shirts? A handshake? Please let there be a handshake.] What surprises me, more than the apparent number of bored alien captors, is that beings with the technological capacity to abduct people from any number of universes would have nothing better to do than watch us fly around space. If I was them, I think that I would find us boring.

Yeah, a good point... then again, don't seem that different to humans, usin' us as entertainment for their tv or whatever it equal to. Merde, we got shows 'bout animals 'nd the like, let 'lone reality tv shows, seems 'bout the same, just on a bigger scale.

Are the people on reality shows traditionally held captive against their wills? [This is a real, sincere question. He's still learning about the genre.]

[Though Remy couldn't help the fraction of surprise that flashed over his face before he shoved it away, easily recognizing that name and shoving his inner Star Trek fanboy away. Chekov. And not Walter Koenig. So, did that mean...] Goin' to take a guess here but, ya wouldn't happen to know a Jim Kirk, would ya? [That was assuming Jim was still here, on the Fleet...

I don't understand how that can be entertaining.

[Chekov is sufficiently used to people recognizing his name and his affiliation with the Enterprise and her crew to not be terribly surprised.] I would happen to know him. He is currently the captain of the Tourist.

Drama, I suppose, never been 'm taste in tv shows, [Though even with saying this Remy was too caught up in the fact of who this was. It was so great, even if it wasn't the version he had grown up with. He loved the fact he got to see more of Kirk's universe and what it was like.] Get 'nough drama in life without havin' it on m' tv.

Do you know what this means? All that we need to do to have the Atroma free us is find a way to make their lives so dramatic that they no longer want to watch our drama. Simple. [Only half-joking. The situation is so insane that even ridiculous ideas sound vaguely plausible.]

Are you accustomed to space travel? Beyond your time here, I mean.

Non, non, [Remy waved off the thought.] Early twenty first century Earth, we well off from 'nything close to this. Short, ya know, aliens showin' up 'nd decidin' to bestow technology that we most likely will muck up 'nd do more harm than good with, [And no doubt would be used to try and harm part of the population first before it was used for anything like space travel.] We well off 'nything like this.

This, despite all the kidnappin' 'nd bein' stuck in little floatin' tin cans, has been quite the experience.

Most alien races would be intelligent enough to not give humanity technology that it's not ready for. In the universe that I come from, we were only contacted by an extraterrestrial race after we developed the capacity for interstellar travel ourselves. [Not that his Earth didn't have its rough spots when that technology was in development, but that's in the distant past.]

Despite the kidnapping and being stuck in floating cans, I hope that it has been a mostly good experience. There are worse extrauniversal prisons.

So 've heard. [The Fleet, and Remy's time in Luceti, sounded like a cake walk compared to the sound of what others had gone through.] This is certainly more eventful, in a good way, than the last place I was stuck at. Always 'njoyed gettin' to see new countries back home, 'nd now get to do that with new worlds. May be 'way from family 'nd work, but this ain't a bad trade off.

And there are, of course, new friends to make in addition to new worlds to see. [New families to find, too.] No replacement for home, but not so bad.

[Until people leave. But.]

That too, that too, [It was a very torn feeling, if Remy spent too much time thinking about it. He had made good friends here, important connections, and the idea of leaving them was just as bad as the thought of being away from family.] As much of a risk this conversation be of slippin' 'nto something too sad 'nd depressin'. Rather focus on the fun side of this all, may be stuck here, but could be far worse.

[That's the hazard of these places, isn't it? Whatever happens, leaving and loss are both inevitable. But they're not going the depressing route!]

Yes, of course. There are people here who remember you, correct? That makes it more fun, I would imagine.

Seems got a few still 'round the place, from m' time here in the Fleet at least. [Before a touch of a smile pulled at his lips, though it was a little sad.] Had someone here who had gone through the last place I had been as well, but she left... well I guess awhile back now, since I been gone for a bit now. She was there longer than I had been, then was here when I turned up here. [Damn, there was a risk of getting sad now, thinking of Rogue being gone, but Remy shook himself out of those thoughts again, keeping to his word to try and keep this more light.]

Be 'nterested to find out who still here once I get back on a ship, or who be new here. Never know, might have a few more friendly faces 'bout.

Maybe that isn't so bad... for her, at least.

I hope that you will find everyone here who remembers you, from both your time here and from home. I also hope to be considered a friendly face, of course, eventually.
