Who: Carl Grimes & You
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: SS Red Fish
When: 6/9/17
I know you can fall asleep and suddenly remember more from home. Didn't think that stuff would still happen if they're just memories.
Has that happened to anyone else? Waking up with something new?
[ action;; Red Fish ]
[ For those on the Red Fish who have paid attention, Carl has been absent for a few days. Only tucked into his bed, but still. If they're quick enough, they could catch him sneaking his way to the medical bay, head tucked toward his chin and hair covering his face. Hiding something? Of course not, there's nothing to hide!
Afterward, he'll be out wandering the halls, white bandage covering half his face and looking a little older than he was when he went to sleep. Still the same twerp, though. ]

[ The more alarming thought was that the Atroma have the power to pull off that shit. Or that they would even want to. They have to get their drama somehow, apparently. ]
It did happen at home, but apparently it carries over.
action
[It's more of a statement than a question. If she's certain of anything with this kid, it's that he's already at least tried to take care of his injuries, however they were inflicted. She's known of people that have gone home and returned different, but rarely do they come back in bandages.]
Are you going to elaborate? I'm not playing twenty questions here.
action
[ Not that he needed the medical attention, he can't very well walk around with half a disgusting face. If anyone wants to think it's a fresh would, he'll let them so long as they don't try to help him with it. ]
Got shot.
action
[He's up and walking around. That means he isn't in pain, or at least, isn't in unbearable pain. He's speaking coherently, too. They're better signs than she'd have counted on from a gunshot wound to the face. Maybe he was just grazed, but the placement and size of his bandages doesn't suggest it.]
Who's looked at it? Or did you dress it yourself?
action
[ Which sounds impossible, true. It only makes the situation weirder. Waking up with a healed up scar is one thing, but waking up with a mostly healed gunshot wound? It's almost identical to how it was the last he remembered from home. It had been quite a few months by that point. ]
action
[She might be taking advantage of carte blanche that she doesn't actually possess, but that's never stopped her. It's not as if their injuries aren't mirrored, anyway.]
Did you lose that eye? Or is it just useless?
action
[ It's not an injury that he's particularly comfortable with. Of anyone, Asuka will definitely understand why he's not piping up about it. The situation was screwed up, really shouldn't even have happened, but he got caught in the crossfire.
Story of his life. ]
action
I've got a dartboard you can practice with.
[Already she's assuming that's his concern, ending up with an aim that's shot to hell from lack of depth perception. It was hers. She straightens, and it looks as though she's about to turn away, before she adds another few words.]
I was a pilot at home before I was a pilot here. When-- [and a shrug, not even bothering to touch her eyepatch]-- I thought I wouldn't be able to again. But you only lose what you want to lose.
action
That would be great. I had one back home to practice with.
[ His aim was terrible and there were more holes in the wall than points on the dart board, but that's what the practice was for. Carl gives her a nod in agreement. The first few days after his injury, he thought the same thing. That he'd never be able to fire a gun again. That he'd gone back to not being able to contribute. He was determined not to. ]
We can't really afford to lose the best way to survive.
action
[Asuka inclines her head just an inch or two in response. She's a poor comfort and a poorer confidante, but she's making an effort all the same.]
It's not really about surviving here so much.
[In an ordinary world, with an ordinary job, it wouldn't be a problem. There are millions of people with only one eye. Her hands find their way into her pockets, digging down as she shrugs.]
I'll bring it by later. You know where I am.
action
[ She doesn't need to comfort or coddle- this is enough. ]
We're all kinda predictable that way.
