I know you can fall asleep and suddenly remember more from home. Didn't think that stuff would still happen if they're just memories.

Has that happened to anyone else? Waking up with something new?

[ For those on the Red Fish who have paid attention, Carl has been absent for a few days. Only tucked into his bed, but still. If they're quick enough, they could catch him sneaking his way to the medical bay, head tucked toward his chin and hair covering his face. Hiding something? Of course not, there's nothing to hide!

Afterward, he'll be out wandering the halls, white bandage covering half his face and looking a little older than he was when he went to sleep. Still the same twerp, though. ]

[Velvet gets restless during drift weeks, so she's spending some time wandering the ship herself, occasionally pausing to clean things if she feels they are out of place or dusty or something. Though mostly she's just looking for ways to occupy herself. She notices Carl, though, and pauses.]

Hey. You okay?

[The face bandage is a little worrying.]

[ It's only been a few days, but Carl feels the need to move around and at least stretch his legs. He needs to reorient himself with the Red Fish with that shoddy depth perception. He'd gotten used to it at home, he remembered that much. Here, it's like trying to do it all over again.

He nods to Velvet, moving a bit closer. ]

Hey, Velvet. I'm okay. You?

Bored, mostly. Drifting gets old pretty fast.

[She tilts her head and makes sort of a vague gesture to her own face to indicate his bandage. She doesn't point at his since she figures if you have an injured eye you probably don't want people's hands in your face.]

[ They'd think so, anyway. It always feels like an eternity between planets. ]

[Huh. Well, if he doesn't want to talk about it, she won't push. But, he's been asleep for awhile, right?]

They're real. I went to sleep not knowing any of this stuff and I woke up and suddenly have all this new information. Knowing I didn't leave bed to get it makes it..weird.

[Oh heck no. Seymour has hung around the medical bay enough that he notices when Carl trying to sneak into the room. Especially since Carl hasn't been really around these past few days. He's trying to be casual as he approaches Carl but he is definitely walking too fast for it to be calm whatsoever.]

[ Nope. Nope. This is the opposite of what he wanted. Being so close, Seymour is bound to notice something is up. If he can just get into the med bay, he's so close. Carl feels entirely too exposed, his words a bit defensive. ]

No, I just need something. I can take care of it myself.

[ He'd been taking care of it, but that was at home. It's still disorienting, remembering what happened at home, but knowing everything had been fine when he'd fallen asleep here. Fuck the Atroma, honestly.. ]

[Seymour at least stops dead in his tracks. He looks at him worriedly.]

Are... are you sure? I really don't mind helping you out, whatever it is.

Don't want to gross you out. [ Because that totally won't make him even more curious. ]

No, I'm okay. It's mostly healed, anyway.

Kind of concerning right? Go to sleep and everything's fine. Wake up a few days later and suddenly half your face is gone.

[Asuka's on her way back to her room, cup of water in hand. The last few days, she's barely been on the ship, worrying over a birthday party, but now, she's trying to get back to the time-worn business of skulking around her own ship.]

[She sort of inclines her head at Carl, only to pause right after, typical frown starting to deepen.]

I thought we'd finished fending off invaders.

We haven't had any, unless that was something I missed.

[ What he doesn't miss is the way that expression changes. Easy enough to put two and two together, really. Carl offers a quick shrug. ]

Didn't happen here technically. [ It did, but the memory didn't match up with it. ]

Then where did it happen?

[Maybe it comes off more pointedly than she means it to, but she's particular when it comes to eye injuries, for painfully obvious reasons. Her hand finds its way to her hip almost on automatic.]

Home. Or, well..when I fell asleep, it was fine.

[ The more alarming thought was that the Atroma have the power to pull off that shit. Or that they would even want to. They have to get their drama somehow, apparently. ]

It did happen at home, but apparently it carries over.
