Yo, I gotta question for y'all that I've been thinkin' about. [He started off sounding sure of himself, but falls silent for a moment. How does he even bring this up? It's not as though it was talked about, ever, at home; definitely not in polite or public company. He's a little quieter when he speaks again:]

So I saw that --uh, clock guy was talkin' about-- [God, it's a good thing this is voice, he really wouldn't like the entirety of the fleet to see him blushing like a young lady with a crush.] --Um, gentlemen that are more inclined t' court other gentlemen. An' I saw it, too, during those memories.

I'm just wonderin': that's accepted, here? Is it accepted for the rest of y'all, too? 'Cause I sure as hell didn't see anyone posing any objections to it. Which is amazing, really, 'cause back home we couldn't do nothin' like that at all, and I was just ...curious, I guess.

Well, I don't think it's so much the legs as -- y'know, what's at the top of them. [He's going a little red there.]

Though I guess it is pretty easy to be distracted by a fine-lookin' leg, but that goes for a man or a woman, really.

Oh, I dunno. Abolishing slavery -- that's a real good distraction. Pickin' fights with assholes, or encouraging Alexander to, a lotta times. Intelligence.

Yeah? I don't much like the uniforms they offer, so I've been stickin' with my old one.

I mean, they're a little better than wearing red in the middle of winter.

I don't quite get that one. Is that a dig at the British?

[A grin.] Yup. I mean, we wear blue --[With a gesture to his own coat, there.] --but that's kinda easy to disguise, you get in some cover. Their red ain't, especially in the snow.

You know what's easier? Start using whites and grays and light, light blues in the snow and you'll be even harder to see. And in the woods wear greens and browns.

Just future battle advice there.
