I do not know - it is higly poorly executed if so, for it has only the one note, although that could be adjusted by altering the length of the device I suppose...

I'm less concerned by the lack of variety and more by the sound it makes...

According to Arthur it is... some sort of device used at sporting events. I must confess I do not see the appeal.

I think Maedhros wants it as a souvenier, which should be fine so long as he doesn't actually blow into it, I suppose.

I'm not going to confiscate your "gifts", if you can call them that. I'm not a tyrant. Just try to be courteous to your shipmates, that's all. Dezel and Zaveid are pretty sensitive to the air in here, and that honking noise is an offense against peace and quiet.

... Do you think, if I threw it out, Atroma would return it.

I... feel like that would be a 50-50 chance, depending on how generous they feel and how amused they are by its existence. If, on the other hand, they find it as annoying as we do, they might just allow the void of space to keep it.

This is Atroma, we are talking about, I think, considering the reaction I got to testing what it sounded like, if I throw it out, someone else will find it mysteriously in their bunk. At least if I keep it, we will all know where it is, I suppose?

Well, you won't know unless you try, but it's yours, so I'll leave the decision up to you. But we might need to consider that sound-proof room idea more seriously if we get more like it.

Well, there's spare rooms on the Iskaulit - I keep meaning to make myself a proper music room there.

But I suppose I have to try. It isn't as if the thing is sentient and can return, although I'm sure the Atroma can afford plenty more.

Sentient? If they turned it into a hellion, maybe.

[Even that would be a stretch, to say the least. Anyway.]

I can't see what we'd have to lose, besides the potential for noise complaints.

Did you have a lot of trouble with the... 'Calibrations'?

[ Maglor's hand hovers over the kazoo briefly before leaving it - the vuvuzela is the worst, so that one will go. He's going to experiment more with the others first ]

[Ugh... isn't there like, some unspoken rule not to talk about calibrations? He'd kind of like there to be. It was horrible.]

Not physically, anyway. I can't speak for everyone about the emotional issues. It hasn't been the best of months.

Good. [ Fortunately for Mikleo, Maglor seems content to leave it there ] I am glad! I would rather that month have not happened, but I am glad you came through alright. I hope your family is the same! I ... would be gentle with Maedhros for a few weeks though. Some memories ... well. He's like to be very snappish for a while, until he can push those back down. Fingon will be hovering, so if you do run into them, take your cue from my cousin.

Ah... thanks for the warning, and I hope you all recover well soon. I can sympathize- I know a few people who might be feeling much the same. Plenty of us have memories we'd happily go without reliving once more... it's a cruel thing that they did to us.

It is. But, sadly, I am sure, highly entertaining for our viewers. [ Maglor grimaces ]

Did you get anything odd in your "gift" basket too? Maedhros' was especially cruel, particularly considering what they made him remember.

I received some vegetable husks with seeds inside, so I might look into growing them, if that's even possible. I don't know how useful they'd be overall, though. They're mostly poisonous.

Well, we could set aside a small patch of the garden, or we could look into planters that you could keep in your room, maybe? Although I'm not sure about use, either.
