Captain's Log 12 - Assessment

_{[ The video comes on and Kirk fills the screen, looking somewhere between perturbed and amused, maybe even a touch confused. Or was it miffed? Either way it's a slightly odd expression and just to his left is sitting a basket most everyone should be familiar with now. It is opened, though the food stuffs is left untouched (for now - he's not Looma, okay?).

He picks one of the items up off the table beside him and holds it up - it's a picture of a bird with some words atop it that read: 'I took a calculated risk, but man, am I bad at math' and titled on the frame as "Self Portrait". ]}

I feel this is a very sassy and unwarranted attack on my character, Atroma. Is there something you're trying to tell me?

Just so we are clear, that is not a new nickname for me I approve of.

_{[ And considering what would be lost if they were on bad terms, might
want to think carefully, Remy. ]}

[There is certainly a joke in that... but not one Remy is going to make on an open line, instead he just let that usual smirk settle on his face.] Wouldn't dream of it, cher, wouldn't work with m' normal flare, non? 'nd we both know 'm mostly just made up of show 'nd hot air than 'ny real skill.

How 'bout I soothe that horrible 'nsult to ya, [As much as Remy still found it hilarious.] With something more smooth? [Moving to hold up a bottle he had received, and instantly fell in love with for the French accents of the design.] Think that might help?

_{[ He made a mock girlish gasp of delight upon seeing the bottle -
though the delight itself was not feigned at all. He's actually a bit
jealous. How did Remy get the good stuff and he got an insulting portrait?

I think it might do the trick.

[Oh, he got other stuff as well, this was just a lovely surprise along with them, and a step up from that champagne they got.] So glad ya easily patched up after that horrible hit to ya ego. Seemed almost fatal. [A wide, warm, grin added to that, even if there was an edge of a chuckle to it still. It was rather funny.]

Ya get 'nything else good in the 'sorry we messed with ya head' gift pack we got?

Well, you know me, always dodging death.

_{[ He smirked at Remy and then got a sly sort of cant to his eyes.

Well I would tell you, but it would be more fun to show you over that nice bottle you have.

Oui, ya do, but that makes for the most 'nterestin' stories, non? [That smile he gave back wasn't quite his normal smirk, too much warmth behind it to be purely joking. He really did adore his time with Kirk, as much as he may joke about it.]

'nd ya know what? I think I could be persuaded to head on over. [After all, one of the 'gifts' Remy received was really a much better present to Jim than himself.] 'll see ya soon. [Finishing up the video feed with a wink before he sorted himself out to head on over and went searching out where he could find Kirk on the Tourist.]

_{[ Not like Remy would have a hard time finding him - he was just in
his captain's room on the Tourist, which Remy knew the location of
quite well. He grinned when Remy came in, setting aside his little slug and
rising to greet him via a kiss while at the same time reaching for the
bottle. ]}

Glad my persuasion didn't wear off halfway ~

Cher, ya gotta have more confidence in yaself, always so hard on yaself. [A grin backing up his words as Remy turned enough to not only catch that kiss, but also move the bottle out of reach, instead placing something else in Kirk's hands.]

Think this be more suited for ya line of cookin' than mine. [Not that Remy didn't like to cook breakfasts or making them look fancy if he had the audience to appreciate it, but he also knew that Jim did take pride in his morning cooking.]

_{[ Kirk blinked at the item, at first not quite sure what it might be
and then he laughed when he realized what you could do with it that
involved a breakfast. He turned back to Remy and gave him another kiss,
adding in a nip along his bottom lip this time for just a bit of sassiness.
It wouldn't do for them to get to sweet with each other. ]}
