So, uh... month's almost over. We'll leave soon. There's lots of... weapons for sale, here. Thought I'd offer lessons, if people... want to learn new skills. If you bought something, or have something... you want to buy, can help you learn it.

Last chance, before we go, to... get new things. Should take advantage, while you can. Waiting by job board. Can teach anything, so just... bring your weapon, and we'll start.

Can teach hand to hand, too. If that's... more your style.

You should come. Even if there's nothing... you want to learn. Want to see you.

[Honestly, Cass will do her best not to cause any lasting damage. Causing Stephanie pain is never, has never been a thing Cass had any desire to do. Nope, she'd much rather just hug her forever.

So when the other girl shows up, Cass hugs her tight and buries her face in her hair, not entirely keen to let go any time soon.]

[ Steph has no problem with this. She hugs her tightly, perfectly happy not to loosen her grip until Cass seems like she's ready to let go. ]

Hey. You should come by more often. We've got a spare bunk for you on the First Breath, you know.

[hellofist]

[That gets an annoyed huff.]

Put in papers. They just... didn't let me. I tried.

[mysunnydisposition]

I know. [ She smiles a little. ] You can still stay over. As long as you want. I checked with Tim, no one's gonna stop you.

[hellofist]

No one could.

[There's absolutely no question about that. It would take an army to keep Cass away from Stephanie at this point, and even now she isn't particularly interested in sparring anymore. She just wants this, to hold her and keep her close.]

[mysunnydisposition]

[ Steph snorts softly into Cass' shoulder at that. ] Okay, you have a point...

[ She nestles her face into the crook of Cass' neck, because there's not much closer she can get at this point but she feels like Cass would appreciate that extra little point of contact. The way she's clinging to her right now... Yeah. ]

Soooo... I'm guessing you missed me? A little?

[hellofist]

[If it weren't for the way Stephanie presses her face in close like that, what she says out loud would have Cass pulling away. Usually when people ask questions like that it's to point out odd behavior, try to correct it, and yet Stephanie is still holding her close.]

You were gone... for a long time. Allowed to miss you.

[mysunnydisposition]

You are. I'd have missed you too if I... y'know... remembered it.

[ She lifts her head a little. ]

Tim told you I'm not actually dead, right?

[hellofist]

[Well, that gets her to let go. Cass puts a little bit of space between them, looks down at the ground as she nods.]

Doesn't change much, though. You were dead, to me. We... there was a funeral.

[mysunnydisposition]

...there was? [ She doesn't know why she didn't think of that. That there would have been a funeral - that Cass would have been there. What did they bury, if she wasn't there? Did her mother even know...?

She hesitates, lips pressed together while she thinks. ]

Will it help if I promise you won't have to go to another one of those any time soon? I mean. I'll do my best.

[hellofist]

[Her answer is a nod, for that first part. Of course there was, and of course they were all there. Cassandra can count the number of times she's cried on one hand and that day definitely added another finger.]

It helps. Will be different, this time. This time, I'd be there.
