Hey, two questions.

Are there cameras in the bathrooms? And does anyone know a good place to start growing plants? If you have somewhere, I will gladly exchange piano lessons, fighting (and weaponry) assessment and suggestions, or some sort of favor (within reason). I'm afraid I don't really have much in way of cash right now.

Last but not least (not a question), if anyone would care to buddy up for a little good ol' fashioned exploring, then I'm your gal.

[ Never with Jill. If she were a plant, she'd be a tree -- and probably not a flowering one. If she had a garden (and the time to deal with it), it would all be usable; none of that pretty stuff unless it was edible or could be applied to a wound or something like that. ]

Quite an inspiring guy, huh. I hope you don't consider this intrusive, but would you happen to be French (or Canadian)? Not sure if we're from the same place, but it's familiar enough to me.

Ha ha, real good one. You can't pull a pun on your name past a fluent speaker, I'm afraid!

[ She only got the part with his name. If the camera were included, it might be a little more extreme than acknowledging that aliens and elves exist. ]

Not a bad job, but probably more active than mine currently is, I imagine?

Ah oui! That is exactly why I made that joke and for absolutely no other reason. Clever catch!

You would be surprised. We rarely need to do much of our jobs. Though I am sure my captain would like to change that very much.

I'm an old hand when it comes to wordplay and puns. Not so much doing it myself, but I've got a friend that'll make a joke any time he sees an opportunity for one.

Got a hard ass captain, huh? Well, it's a good thing, I guess.

It always makes for an interesting time, no? You never know when you could use a good laugh after all.

She will never see us come to harm, there is always that to be thankful for.

It helps pass the time and ease the stress, in my experience.

It does! No one wants to be tense and miserable all the time.

Aha that it does! We all need a little variety in our lives, no? Do you know someone like that? A stickler for the rules?

Depending on the day, it's me. You can definitely have it both ways. Rules don't have to hinder enjoyment or variety and fun doesn't have to break the rules.

[What is this...middle ground? Can you eat it? ]

That is a very unique perspective, mademoiselle. Most people go one way or the other.

[torsion]

I guess sometimes, but you don't have to always go one way or the other. And sometimes you can go one way and then the other. There's no limitation on changing your mind or interests.

[servantnotserving]

I do like that way of thinking! I shall keep it in mind.

[torsion]

If only it was as easily said as done most of the time.

You would be surprised what you can achieve with a little stubbornness and faith in yourself.

[torsion]

I've got both in spades. I'm just realistic. Accepting there as some things I'm not good at or won't hold my interest long enough or in a particular way for me to be successful at it isn't a bad thing. It's not just knowing my limitations, but what I do and don't care for.

Ah, so you know what you want, and know to avoid what you do not?

Sometimes.

Human nature to go for what you can't have even if you know it sometimes.

But of course. The grass is always greener, as they say. We can't help ourselves sometimes. But it is in trying to get what we cannot have that we might find what we actually need.
