Who: Jill Valentine
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: Heron + Iskaulit
When: July 18th onward
Hey, two questions.
Are there cameras in the bathrooms? And does anyone know a good place to start growing plants? If you have somewhere, I will gladly exchange piano lessons, fighting (and weaponry) assessment and suggestions, or some sort of favor (within reason). I'm afraid I don't really have much in way of cash right now.
Last but not least (not a question), if anyone would care to buddy up for a little good ol' fashioned exploring, then I'm your gal.

I see. Have you noticed anything different about it here? I haven't noticed anything on my end (at least with my "version" of it). It'd be pretty neat if we spoke the same languages despite everything.

theres a lot of words i have never heard before, not just for modern things either. some people here emphasize words differently too, in ways that sounds odd to what im used to
but im also not the best to ask. i can speak common fluently, but it isnt my first language and a lot of the common i know doesnt make sense to me at times either

I think sometimes that says more about the individual than the language, but it's equally interesting! I've heard some odd stuff so far here, but I have to admit that I kind of keep to myself for the most part so there might be something really strange I'm missing out on!
I see. That would be like Japanese to me. Sometimes even translated, it doesn't make sense. For example, in a language I'm familiar with "on" and "off" don't exist as a concept so you'd say something that in English (or I guess Common for you) wouldn't make sense in that language. In another language I speak there's the concept of engendering inanimate objects and the spelling of it will differ if it's considered male or female (and in some cases it's the gender you are, regardless).
Language is interesting, but pretty convoluted.

i am not familiar with engendering in language, but i understand the concept. and it is certainly convoluted, especially if you do not learn it properly. i have learned that modern english/common/whatever is far more direct than what im used to, especially in my native language

That has to be difficult to deal with in that case. I think part of it is just people are more direct, as well. Unless I'm missing out on something like customs (which I'm sure I am).

humans are more direct in their language, elves and my kind not so much. customs do play a part but again i am not the best to ask about that. im more familiar with human customs because i am around them so much

Well, good. I admit I kinda hate asking people so many questions, even when the curiosity is reciprocated. It can be awkward. Rather just find out about a person as I go along for the most part.
no subject
it can be, but it is something one gets used to when one does it all the time
no subject
I hate to ask you a question after saying that but I take it you do that a lot, then?
no subject
i do. mostly about modern things or words i do not understand
no subject
Gotta suck in that case.
no subject
at times it does. but i will not learn if i do not open my mouth, yes?

[ She'd be hard-pressed to admit it, but she'd throw down again for Chris. Barry and Parker to a lesser-extent, but she doesn't really think of herself as self-sacrificial. There's just scales that tip in different directions and her love outweighs her need to survive.
But you'll get that out of her over her dead body. ]
Ha! Yeah, definitely. I'd rather speak up and learn something than pretend I know what's up when I don't.

exactly. so it may 'suck' but it is necessary

Ha ha, sorry if you're picking up the way I talk. You've a much more dignified air about you! Don't let me be a bad influence! ;)

no subject
Guess maybe more than me, at the very least? But I guess it's good to know about you. (Sorry for assuming!)
