Who: Zack Fair / OTA
Broadcast: Yes!
Action: the Caprine
When: Now!
( action; caprine )
[...Alright, so that was. Weird. He was totally just on the Marsiva, but now he's on another ship, apparently! With confetti, and... pudding, which gets set aside for now, because he's sure as hell not trusting random food thrown at him willynilly.
He's more interested in the new ship itself, so he'll be exploring the place, poking his head into whatever room he comes across unless it's locked. Apologies in advance?]
( video; fleetwide )
[Have a Zack! Pulling bits of confetti out of his hair. He looks about as confused as any newcomer, though perhaps not as disturbed. He has officially Seen Some Shit, as one might guess by the semi-glowing blue eyes.]
Testing, testing... okay, we'll pretend this works. It's kinda different from standard issue ShinRa PHS, but it doesn't look that complicated...
Anyway- hey there, fellow space people. Name's Zack. Am I crazy, or are the voices in my head legit when they say I'm on TV? 'Cause, uh. I'd kind of prefer that, at this point. Not really a fan of the random voices concept.
...Aerith? Where'd you end up?

Oh, uh. Alright, got it.
[BRAIN DUMPS ARE NORMAL, CHECK. Also, that's freaky.]
Is that just so we don't explode ourselves in the middle of nowhere?

[He's optimistic, not dillusional.]
no subject
What job did they assign you?
no subject
[No promises, especially considering...]
I think they set me up as an engineer? Kinda makes me question the brains of the people who brought me here... I must be the least qualified person for that job.
no subject
It's not something I've done but I remember other people have. I think.
no subject
Guess I'll see how it goes before I rush into anything new. Maybe I'll be struck by some grant epiphany and be amazing at it or something.
no subject
[...Wrath, that is probably not how engineering works. Like she has any clue.]
Hey can I ask you a question? It might be rude, I'm never sure.
no subject
Sure, go for it.

[Is he still technically on the run? Should he play it safe? Eh, better keep it vague.]
I dunno if I'd call it normal, but I'm not the only one. I'm a regular human in almost every way, but I'm- [nope] I was part of a military group a while back. We get doused in a chemical that ups our physical abilities, makes us more durable, the works. One of the side effects is it makes our eyes glow.

[Learned that one the hard way, but at least it gives him a frame of reference.]
Super strong, too. My sword's about 100 pounds, so most people can't wield it effectively.

Why'd you give your sword away though?
no subject
[He's never been that lucky anyway.]
Uh, it's kind of a long story. The short version is that he needed it more than I did.
no subject
But that's a really good reason to give someone a weapon. Winter gave me a knife once cause I needed it more than him once and it really worked out, so hopefully things worked out for your friend like that except he didn't have to stab you in the leg with your own sword.
no subject
[Too damned observant. He offers up a smile and a shrug.]
I'm... gonna hope that doesn't happen? I'd rather go without a stabbing or two.
no subject
[She nods wisely.]
I mean there's only been the one time there was stabbing here. It's pretty fucking boring.
no subject
If that's your attitude when it comes to fighting, you'd fit right in with my old army buds.
[SOLDIER could get a little... thirsty, on occasion. He can't deny that he's just as guilty of it himself.]
no subject
Except for when my back was broken, and that sucked.
But anyway. Like. If you ever want to hang out with other vets, we're around. Cause sometimes civilian shit is just weird and doesn't make any sense.
no subject
[Bet civilians don't usually fight armies of clones and one-winged goddess monsters.]
Your back okay, though? That sounds bad.
no subject
[Maybe more context is needed. Erm.] Um. And my back was all FUBAR when I got here cause like... um. Two years ago? I got thrown out the 99th story of the Bifrons office tower and all my bones pulped when I hit the sidewalk. Then when the doc tried to grow me some new metalloid composite bones they were messed up because of the ports and everyone where I'm from thinks it's like impossible to remove those so it never got better.
So coming here was a really great thing! For a lot of reasons.
