[Here is a little redhead, glass of wine in hand, who appears to be right-side up, yet in the background everything appears to be… upside down? The kitchen is upside down, apparently.]

Question for all of you. It’s been brought to my attention numerous times that some of you don’t come from a world where people have fancy kinds of powers.

For those of you who do, what kind of powers have you experienced? How do yours work? I’ve heard some say theirs are elemental based, while others are based on magic.

For those of you who don’t, have you ever wondered what having special powers is like? There has to be something more interesting than, say, if you were invisible, you'd spy on someone.

[And then he cuts the feed.]

Sounds like a pretty tough life. At least you had a partner so I hope it at least wasn't a lonely one.

Ha! Don't assume stuff! Being alone is better than being with that guy. Even if I compare you two, you'd hate him too. He's worse than you are.

[He can hardly believe he's saying this.]

Still, I hate being alone. I think I'd rather spend my days with someone who aggravates me then to be on my own completely all the time.

I think that's the saddest thing I've ever heard you say.

[Well, of course anything that happened in callibrations takes top for sadness, and he can't ever forget that, but still.]

What's wrong with not wanting to be alone? I think most people don't want to be alone. [He smiles brightly. Seeing nothing sad about what he's just said.]

What's sad is you'd rather spend time with someone who aggravates you than be alone.

[Not that he should talk, but he can certainly spend time alone. So he continues.]

I don't know. That kind of thing sounds like it'd make me drink and smoke more than I do right now.

Well, I would of course prefer to be around someone I get along with, but yeah, I would take any company over none.

Besides, maybe spending time with someone who aggravates you then you can find the thing in common you both have! And then they become someone who you like instead of someone who aggravates you!

[Chuuya thinks this over, tilting his head as he does so.]

I guess, to be fair, aggravating doesn't necessarily mean bad. Everyone is aggravating to someone.

Now you're getting it! [Vash nods his head as if this was his point the whole time.] And besides! Some aggravations eventually become something you grow fond of! Without even realizing it you only miss it when it's gone!

[That gets him a look of disgust.]

Ugh... do you know what you sound like? All the romance novels in existence that say that sort of thing. Calling aggravations "quirks" and "I can't sleep without the sound of their snoring" nauseating stories.

[Chuuya raises an eyebrow at Vash.]

Did you just get done with reading romance novels? Is that it?

NO! I DIDN'T! [Yes he did.]

Besides, in those books they usually end with love and happiness. Nothing wrong with that if you ask me!

You can't fill your head with that stuff. Life doesn't work out like they do in those stories!

[He says as someone who reads romance novels and a sucker for romantic things.]

Well, why can't it work out like the stories? All we need to do is work a little harder to make happy endings.

[Chuuya lets out the longest sigh.]

There's a long list of reasons, but I'll spare you of most of it. The main one is not everyone is a good person, you know?

Yeah, of course I know that. [Have you met his brother?] But that's why it's important to spread the message of love and peace! So we can show those less than good people that they're out numbered! Then they'll see doing good is better and eventually that will make the world a better place!

[Chuuya laughs, if only because of how sad he finds that, having a criminal background and all.]

It can't be helped. Some aren't cut out for being good.

That's not true. When we were born, we weren't made to steal or cause others harm. We have a choice; at any point and any time we can choose to change and be good to each other.

[He smiles softly as he remembers the woman who taught him that important lesson when he thought he had fallen so low he couldn't possibly go on.]

[He groans, rubbing his nape. That sounded too familiar and it was annoying!]

Tch... how did we even get to talking about this sort of thing anyway? It's unnecessary.

Hm, you know, I'm not sure but I think it's probably your fault.
