Video | GPS Code, Blood Drive, and Substitute Captaining.

Who: Sam Winchester and you.
Broadcast: Video.
Action: N/A (unless you wanna stop by and visit him!)
When: Now-ish.

Alright, well — hey, everyone. Just a few things, most of it kind of important to get out there ahead of time. First thing's first... Captain Nami's currently MIA; I'm guessing something Atroma-related. She's not anywhere on the ship, but her name's on the roster still. Until she's back, I'll take over reigns on the Bloodsport temporarily, so if anyone has anything they need to talk about regarding the ship, just let me know.

... I'll also be sure to help keep The Space Bar functioning, if any extra help is actually needed. Fenris, you think you can keep things going alright there as her second in command? Just let me know, I'll be more than happy to do a little more work outside of bar-tending.

[He's... worried. Really worried, as he usually is when his friends just disappear or fall into comas. The comas are a lot easier, actually — seeing where people are, even if they're not awake. Katie had also... Focus, Sam. Work first, worrying way later. It'd do no good to get distracted yet.]

Since Allen's left, I'm also gonna be taking over the blood drive for him. What he did was extremely important, and that blood can go towards important transfusions in case of emergency; it doesn't exactly happen too often, but I've been in plenty situations in my life where any little contribution means life instead of death.

If you're interested in giving blood, please let me know and I'll get you in on the screening process. Per the old guidelines, you have to be over the age of 16 and fill out the form attached to the video. Any supernatural or magical being who has a hard time around blood: restraint is a necessity.

The blood drive'll be on the Bloodsport. Which I guess is... actually kind of fitting.

I don't exactly have snacks to offer yet, but if anyone would like to make some, I'd be more than happy to pay you.

[Phew, that's not even the end of it. He flips gracefully through a few loose leaf papers.]

Also — before Kirito left the fleet, um. He and I worked on a GPS function for the network devices, so that you can send out your coordinates. It's an easily accessible function that can show exact locations on planets or in space, in case you want to meet up with someone or — more importantly — if you end up lost or injured and need assistance.

It's not perfect, but it helps increase your chances of getting out of a messy situation and saves time in day-to-day traveling planet-side. It does need to be manually placed on your communicators, though, so please let me know if you're interested and stop by the Bloodsport when you've got a chance.

... And give it up for Kirito; this thing wouldn't be half as functional without his half of the work.

[He clears his throat.]

Man. Lot of people missing or left, huh? How about something else? Say one good thing about yourself. Maybe... something you're good at, or a feature you like. Maybe a hobby you're good at?

I try to practice it myself; reminding myself of things I like about me. So... Lay it on me.

(OOC: Blood drive is handwaved! You can also handwave Sam putting the network GPS on your communicator, but comment here so I know who he's been adding the code to if you can. So much to do, so little time, lmfao.)

Video [cw: cancer mention? idk man i'm playing it safe.]

[Kurt's spent most of his life exposed to radiation and other people's blood. The latter he isn't worried about; the medical exam Wolverine strong-armed him into on joining X-Force revealed nothing contagious, but after serving on a team with Deadpool? The possibility of cancer has become more than an abstract concern.]

I will. [A thought occurs, and he chuckles softly.] You might want to let me do the needlework; my blood's human enough to donate to one, but the best vein to draw from without shaving me is in my tail. [Which is more than long enough not to be awkward, but to the best of his knowledge Kurt is the only one left in the Fleet with experience in drawing blood from it.]

That sounds more than reasonable. I was picturing something more akin to a tracker. [Which was not something he was entirely comfortable with, but the risk of being injured somewhere with Kitty unable to find him was more worrying.]

[Kurt's eyebrows draw together in the face of Sam's sudden discomfort. What did he say?] I'd be surprised if you had.

[His words trail off as it hits him, suddenly; the two of them have never been face to face. Kurt bursts into outright cackling, the camera shaking as force of his mirth causes him to double over, one arm around his stomach.

At least he manages to collect himself enough to gasp out:]
My damn tail's longer than my arm, man! [And he's cackling again. At least someone is amused?]

[Sorry Sam, give him a minute. The man's reddening face sets off another round of cackling from Kurt, who cheats by having fur to cover his cheeks. (It's ok, his ears blush--though not now.)

He does make somewhat of an effort to calm himself, gasping in lungfuls of air. The spade of said tail comes up to wipe at the corners of his eyes.]
Gott. Ah, I haven't laughed like that in ages. Thank you.

Mm, but as per your request; yes, I'd be interested in donating. If you need another set of hands, I could help?

I've had a few team-mates like that. Good men and women, but occasionally you'd have to knock it into their heads that this wasn't a solo operation.

[Kurt chuckles softly, a wistful expression darting across his face.] The team I led was like that, actually. Three of us, and one had been running solo since her powers manifested, the other had been raised in a Machiavellian nightmare, and me trying to herd them both. I don't know how my fur didn't turn grey.

[Kurt raises an eyebrow in silent inquiry, the red mark on his face twisting with the movement.]

Mm, I doubt it. Unless the names Switchback or Damask mean anything to you. [Despite himself, there's a flicker of hope in his voice; he'd lost contact with both of them years ago, and despite knowing their absence during the last war likely meant they were already dead, part of him refuses to believe it. Switchback made it all the way from Detroit to Avalon alone, and Emma had survived a childhood under the Shadow King.

Kurt shakes his head.]
Stubborn, bull-headed women. And I was fool enough to date one of them.
