Waking up #1
Who: Katie McCoy and anyone
Broadcast: Yas
Action: Vanquish
When: 23/8
[Action]
[Vanquish crew might get a heads up that Katie's woken up by the short, one-sided conversation she appears to be having with a demanding and loud cat, muffled through the walls of the personnel room where she sleeps. Not that there's a lot of talking-- a lot of silence on her part, actually, punctuated first with the sharp words "How long?" And then a little later--"Oh, I see. Taking advantage of people again, are you? Tsk."
She lets herself out of the room eventually, still blinking drowsily and her hair tugged back into some semblance of a braid, Licorice a small black shadow winding around her ankles that seems very intent on tripping her up. Which-- don't give her that, you little shit.]
Doesn't work on me. If so many people are feeding you, I bet you've had scads of affection. Don't be such a brat.
[Doesn't stop her from padding barefoot into the kitchen anyway to fetch both of them some food. Morning, crew, wherever you are.]
[Text is my favourite medium]
It seems I slept through show and tell
Pity
But I only got some wonderful movies to add to our collection
[...they're like D-grade. One of them's called Attack of the Killer Refrigerator, I mean c'mon.]
I wonder, has anyone seen Event Horizon?
Fantastic movie, though it's very far-fetched
Plenty of loving moments
Morpheus fought to free his crew from a ship that wouldn't let them go
before he quit and went on to try proving the universe wasn't real
I love sci-fi, don't you?
Better than real life any day
Has anyone given thought to the fact that maybe we're the cameras?
What's the worst movie you've ever seen?
[She probably has points in there somewhere. She was going to waffle about movies ages ago, but then she fell asleep. How rude.]
((ooc: I haven't linked to Katie's permissions for a while.))

Video;
That is, unfortunately true. I met Sherlock Holmes once. Like. Actually him. But modern. It was weird.
Paradisa. Magical castle, kidnapped people and fed on their emotions. It sent us off into space onto the Event Horizon. And the Lewis and Clarke. We just assumed it was the castle being a piece of shit like it always was.
Video;
...the castle of emotional vampirism rings a familiar bell, too. That's pure Shadow Court territory. But that aside, she winces, because she might assume it was definitely plausible but she wouldn't want to go through that shit.]
Perhaps the castle is an avid movie watcher. Or those behind the castle, anyway. You weren't kidnapped by fairies, were you?
Video;
[He shrugs.]
If there were, we never saw them. From what we learned, the castles themselves were sentient. There were a few in the world, but only ours was still... active.
Video;
Kind of like our host ship is the only one functioning here, isn't it? We keep finding dead ones.
[There's a reason she brought up Event Horizon. Sadly, traumatising a demon wasn't planned.]
Video;
[Oh yeah, he can make those connections. ]
So. What was your Event Horizon?
Video;
Did your version of it have many survivors?
Video;
None- most of us survived, and those that died came back not long after everything returning to normal. The castle never really let anyone die for good- or when it did, it was very rare.
Video;
If you die, it can't get anything else from you. You don't chop the head off your golden goose.
Video;
Exactly. So it always made sure people came back, to keep the food source going. Seems like this place is the same.
Video;
Perhaps the great multiverse is just full of psychopathic structures who like housing humans.
[Surprise. Katie nurses the theory that the Marsiva itself is the problem, not the hosts they keep seeing.]
Video;
[He'd happily agree with that, he is so suspicious of anything that's sentient which shouldn't be. ]

[Please she hopes so or her explanation is going to be lacking.]

Don't spread it around. I have a reputation.
