Waking up #1

Who: Katie McCoy and anyone
Broadcast: Yas
Action: Vanquish
When: 23/8

[Action]

[Vanquish crew might get a heads up that Katie's woken up by the short, one-sided conversation she appears to be having with a demanding and loud cat, muffled through the walls of the personnel room where she sleeps. Not that there's a lot of talking-- a lot of silence on her part, actually, punctuated first with the sharp words "How long?" And then a little later--"Oh, I see. Taking advantage of people again, are you? Tsk."

She lets herself out of the room eventually, still blinking drowsily and her hair tugged back into some semblance of a braid, Licorice a small black shadow winding around her ankles that seems very intent on tripping her up. Which-- don't give her that, you little shit.]

Doesn't work on me. If so many people are feeding you, I bet you've had scads of affection. Don't be such a brat.

[Doesn't stop her from padding barefoot into the kitchen anyway to fetch both of them some food. Morning, crew, wherever you are.]

[Text is my favourite medium]

It seems I slept through show and tell
Pity
But I only got some wonderful movies to add to our collection

[...they're like D-grade. One of them's called Attack of the Killer Refrigerator, I mean c'mon.]

I wonder, has anyone seen Event Horizon?
Fantastic movie, though it's very far-fetched
Plenty of loving moments
Morpheus fought to free his crew from a ship that wouldn't let them go
before he quit and went on to try proving the universe wasn't real
I love sci-fi, don't you?
Better than real life any day

Has anyone given thought to the fact that maybe we're the cameras?
What's the worst movie you've ever seen?

[She probably has points in there somewhere. She was going to waffle about movies ages ago, but then she fell asleep. How rude.]

((ooc: I haven't linked to Katie's permissions for a while.))

Of course not. That would inconvenience them instead of us.
tsunergy: (calm)(huh) (what? I didn't say anything)

You were asleep? I'm sorry, I wasn't aware. I'm glad you're up now.

[It's really hard to keep track of this many friends, he's not used to it. And it's kind of a seraph thing to not see someone for fifty years and not even realize it, so...]

I don't think you missed much... probably just a lot of shopping. I grew my hair out, does that count?
tsunergy: (calm)(sad) ((masculinity is a social construct))

[uh.

uhhhhhhhh.

there's a pause of a minute or two with no responses, until finally Mikleo just attaches a photo- it's of Sorey, showing off the back of his head. Hanging from the top of his hair is a fabric measuring tape held in place by nothing (or Mikleo, invisibly). The end of the tape falls just above the middle of Sorey's back.

Ta-da?]
tsunergy: (calm) (he still asks all the time though.)

He says hi back.

No, it hasn't been that long. Our appearance is primarily driven by self-image- quite literally, believing is seeing. A certain someone thought I might look good with long hair, and it stuck with me enough that I figured I'd try it.

That would be convenient, wouldn't it? But no, it's not an unlimited power. The belief has to be genuine, especially to make drastic changes, otherwise we'd be lying to ourselves, and that would invite malevolence.

It's mostly just what keeps us looking the same age for centuries.
tsunergy: (smile)(calm) (no i won't tell you why)

It doesn't surprise me, actually. We managed to find common ground a while ago- it's only grown since then.

One day I hope to figure out what "your kind" is, exactly.

[since, you know, she can't answer him plainly.]
tsunergy: (huh) (skipping meals...)

Interesting. I wasn't aware there'd been anything in there that I overlooked.

If you've got any to recommend for me, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm always open to new stories.

[Or is that cheating? Only way to find out is to try.]
tsunergy: (calm) (no the other one)

[ooh, that's a better hint than he expected. Trickster spirits, eh...]

Vampires are awfully popular in media, even across worlds. It might take a while to find the right book.
tsunergy: (smile) (whatever shall i do.)

I'll be honest, the only vampires I've ever met are quite friendly, so I'm not sure where this terrible reputation comes from.
tsunergy: (smile) (some of us do anyway.)

You've certainly been slacking off on taking advantage of all the trust you've earned. Or maybe we're just snacks being saved for later.
tsunergy: (calm) (one of her was enough)

I'm sure we'll all have a terrible time. I shouldn't have said that.
tsunergy: (smile) (it started with this woman)
