Waking up #1
Who: Katie McCoy and anyone
Broadcast: Yas
Action: Vanquish
When: 23/8
[Action]
[Vanquish crew might get a heads up that Katie's woken up by the short, one-sided conversation she appears to be having with a demanding and loud cat, muffled through the walls of the personnel room where she sleeps. Not that there's a lot of talking-- a lot of silence on her part, actually, punctuated first with the sharp words "How long?" And then a little later--"Oh, I see. Taking advantage of people again, are you? Tsk."
She lets herself out of the room eventually, still blinking drowsily and her hair tugged back into some semblance of a braid, Licorice a small black shadow winding around her ankles that seems very intent on tripping her up. Which-- don't give her that, you little shit.]
Doesn't work on me. If so many people are feeding you, I bet you've had scads of affection. Don't be such a brat.
[Doesn't stop her from padding barefoot into the kitchen anyway to fetch both of them some food. Morning, crew, wherever you are.]
[Text is my favourite medium]
It seems I slept through show and tell
Pity
But I only got some wonderful movies to add to our collection
[...they're like D-grade. One of them's called Attack of the Killer Refrigerator, I mean c'mon.]
I wonder, has anyone seen Event Horizon?
Fantastic movie, though it's very far-fetched
Plenty of loving moments
Morpheus fought to free his crew from a ship that wouldn't let them go
before he quit and went on to try proving the universe wasn't real
I love sci-fi, don't you?
Better than real life any day
Has anyone given thought to the fact that maybe we're the cameras?
What's the worst movie you've ever seen?
[She probably has points in there somewhere. She was going to waffle about movies ages ago, but then she fell asleep. How rude.]
((ooc: I haven't linked to Katie's permissions for a while.))

[Hope he likes cats because Licorice is gonna stop tripping her up long enough to bunt Felix in the ankle. She's not being fed fast enough for her liking. Katie yawns indelicately and tucks more of her hair back, shuffling straight for the coffee pot.]
Feels like a year since I last saw you. Anything fun happen while I was away?
no subject
[Well, Licorice isn't going to get fed by doing that, but Felix will reach down and pet her a little.]
Not much. Although you did miss the Marsiva eating a Fleet ship. [He remembers her interest in ships fusing, and his voice is a little wry.] No one was actually living on it anymore. Luckily.
no subject
Really? I sleep through all the interesting bits. Did the Marsiva literally eat it? Did it grow teeth?
[Katie.]
no subject
No teeth, but part of the ship did open into two halves. It looked eerily like a mouth opening. Although the inside of the ship was apparently more space. I can't even begin to imagine how that works. [A momentary pause.] ....Maybe a portal.
[Okay so he lied about what he can possible imagine.]
no subject
So the crew count dropped and the Marsiva decided to tidy away the extra ship. Very practical. They certainly like making a show of things lately, don't they?
no subject
[There is a non-zero amount of sarcasm inflected into that statement. A very non-zero amount.
After Licorice abandons him, he folds his arms on the table and leans on them.]
no subject
There are other ways to get ratings. They should look into it. Hold a talent show. Young Talent Time.
Would you like a coffee or such while I'm over here?
no subject
[Finally, his eyes drift down to what he was reading again, although it still isn't exactly holding his attention very well. After a few seconds, he looks back up at Katie anyway.]
I'm not sure you should expect that much from people who kidnap their participants in the first place. But a talent show would probably be amusing.
[If only to see what people pull out...though he makes a face directly after saying that.]
If it's optional, of course. Probably shouldn't have said that, they'll get the wrong idea.
no subject
[She grins impishly. But like they could ever convince people to take part.]
no subject
[His tone is incredibly dry, his eyebrow arched as he looks up at Katie. Still, he looks amused. So there's that.]
no subject
[/sass. It's okay, Felix, she's not even thinking of staging one, not really. It's amusing to think about though.]
no subject
[....Maybe. Any minute now.]
no subject
[yeah, about that.]
no subject
He doesn't know her that well, but he feels like he knows enough to understand that as a pretty empty threat.]
It would be fair play. I guess.
