Deep Dreams Are Made of These - Open
Who: Keith, Huntress crew, Shiro, open text message
Broadcast: Text
Action: Huntress
When: The night of and morning after the visions/nightmares
[Darkness. Stars. It’s nighttime and the ground trembles. A deep underlying sense of panic permeates everything, tangible in the way your limbs shake and the expressions on people’s faces, though specific features seem to melt away. The darkness turns to red, and the red turns to fire… fire everywhere, uncontrollable and hungry. It burns at your limbs and for a brief second, you see a world-- a planet-- engulfed in a wave of red-orange death.
The background noise is a strange alien wailing, neither male nor female, but it is deep and you find you can almost understand the words. They are strong enough to be word-feelings, which makes them a little hard to concentrate on with the chaos otherwise found in the vision.
<Fire.> <Run.> <Help.>]
=====
on the huntress
[Keith jumped up in bed with a yell, breathing hard. He didn't have nightmares often, but that sure was one. He rubbed his face. Was that... tears? He looked at his hands for a moment, noticing that they were trembling. Keith hesitated, but then eventually reached for the communicator.
After speaking with Shiro, he made his way out to the common area for a bit. He needed to get out of his room. After the common area, he went to the shuttle bay to beat up the punching bag for a bit.]

your element?
[Keith was fully aware that fire could still burn him, sure. But the fire in his dreams was usually related to the bond with his Lion, so it was more of a warm and comforting sensation than what he had just experienced. But, he was curious what Eithan meant.]

is there magic where you're from? or mana or anything like that?

that sounds pretty cool
we sort of have that i guess?
[There was a lot of typing that made it seem like what came next was going to be longer, which meant he deleted a lot, too.]
theres a life force type of thing that allura can use to do stuff
[That was the best he could do for quintessence via text. He was having trouble writing out a comprehensible description.]

[ Not that he's gotten to talk to her, really - he's been... uh... moping, actually, but pretending he's not! Whoops. ]
so what did you mean about fire not being dangerous then? I feel like most people are pretty wary of it no matter what
text -> voice
thats the one
[He wasn't sure how to explain it, but he'd try... and, it would be easier to swtich to voice for this.]
Well, I'm a Paladin of Voltron. I pilot the Red Lion, which has an affinity for fire. So, I've noticed that, ever since I bonded with Red, any time I have a nightmare, if there are flames involved, it's actually my Lion being protective. If I have a fire in my dream, it's usually a different feeling. Kind of safe.
This time, though, it felt dangerous, and it burned. It definitely wasn't Red.
[Though, the Lions weren't here, so it didn't really surprise him that it wasn't his Lion, but it was still kind of upsetting to Keith to suddenly be harmed in a dream by something that, for the past year or so, had been a comforting sensation.]

So, yeah, we're kinda the same way - fire shouldn't hurt, but in that dream, it definitely did. [ beat. ] Sorry you went through that. It sucks. Even if it was just a dream.
Re: voice;
[Keith sounded uncertain, and almost a little nervous at the idea that it was more than a dream.]
