[After a rather short time adrift, the fleet is finally in range of another planet. Small, peaceful, and colorful, there is plenty to do and explore.

Maybe it's enough to forget that vague feeling of unease.

[ A thirst for knowledge is something that Alisha and Sorey have in common - which is why it's likely no surprise that they've run into one another at the planetarium. When he offers his greetings, she'll do the same - only to look back at the stars overhead. ]

Everything here... It's incredible, isn't it?

[Sorey hums in agreement, lacing his fingers over his stomach.]

...someone I knew, before you are brought here, he called himself an astronaut. Somebody who gets on ships like these and goes into the stars to explore and learn about the universe. I thought he was so cool.

But...we really are small, aren't we? Even back on our own worlds. We'll die long before Mikleo, or Edna, or Zaveid or Lailah.

[ Alisha's expression changes as Sorey speaks, growing quiet for a moment when he stops. What he says isn't wrong, of course. ]

... That's true. A human life can be quite short in comparison to seraphim. However... the fact that others can explore as they do is proof that humans are capable of achieving a great amount before they die. Though... it may be a little naive to believe that.

[Yeah, Sorey doesn't often get maudlin right off the bat like this. He's just had a lot of space (hah) to think, here.] Oh, no, I don't mean- [Sorey looks over at her, worrying that he's hurt her feelings somehow. Alisha always tries so hard, has so much ambition for her country, that sometimes Sorey forgets that she and he are actually very different people.

He reaches over to rest a hand on her wrist apologetically.] I'm not saying our lives are pointless, or anything like that. I think you're right; humans are amazing. We can do incredible things in such a short amount of time, it's really cool.

[ She shakes her head, eyes meeting with his as she offers an apology. ] ... I didn't mean to sour your mood further. If anyone's believed in others strongly, it's you, Sorey.

Please, feel free to change the subject if you don't wish to talk about it, but... were you thinking of our earlier conversation?

[Sorey sighs through his nose, patting her wrist before withdrawing his hand to rest it back on his stomach.] Maybe a little. I was thinking more about...what it's like here. Making friends with people who could just disappear one day, no explanation.

[ When someone fights as Alisha does - with other knights and soldier willing to die in battle - it's something that they think about. Perhaps... that's why Alisha can answer as she does. ]

... Back at home, I feel as though we learned to treasure one another as comrades each and every day. After all, some days were more unpredictable than others. It... may be something that could help you, as well.

[ Just... treating some days as though it might be the last day that they would see one another. ]

[Alisha and Rose are both so much more worldly than he is; their life experiences are so varied, and they are so, so much more accustomed to death. Lailah had scolded him for saying so, and in that context she had been right but it doesn't change the fact that the aftermath, that dealing with death, is still something with which they're much more familiar.

And here, disappearances...they're a little like death.]

...what do you do, Alisha? To cope?

[ There's a pause on her end. Things like disappearances and death... They're two different things. Though, she can see why it's hitting Sorey so hard. After all, seraphim live their lives longer than humans do, don't they? And so, it's likely that Sorey never seen the death of a loved one. ]

Back at home, I was given a chance to properly say my good byes after the battles ended. However... here, it would be different. Even so, I don't have doubts that they'd want you to remember them fondly. Perhaps in that way, it would be one way of keeping their memory a positive one.

Mmm. [Sorey's eyes track over the stars, remembering Clay, recalling how his face would light up when he discussed technical things like solar systems and the physics of gravity and stuff like that that Sorey never really could quite grasp.] ...I hope someone writes a book about you, [he says idly.] I hope that you have monuments named after you, or buildings or laws. I hope there are things of you that I can see...when I wake up.

... Sorey. [ She goes silent then. If anything, she feels as though Sorey is the one who deserves things like that - because of what he's doing for everyone - for Glenwood altogether. Still, she doesn't want to voice her thoughts out loud. ]

... I'll continue to fight for the world that you'll save. I want to preserve what you've done for everyone - seraphim and humans both.

That's g-great- [Uh oh. Dang it, there's the tears. He'd been holding them back, trying to be steady and strong with no regrets but which is worse? Wallowing in your regrets or lying to yourself about them?

Sorey sucks in a trembling breath, still facing the stars above and trying to blink away the tears before they fall without much success.] I mean, that's really good, I- if there's anybody who could do it, it's you. I just- [He sniffs hard, laughing a little bit.] I'm so glad you went into the ruins that day. I'm so glad we met.

[ Oh, no... she hadn't meant to make him cry, so she can't help but feel a little panicked - her heart sinking. ]

S-Sorey! Forgive me, I hadn't meant--

No no, you don't have to apologize! [Props himself up on an elbow to sit up more formally, reaching over to rest a hand on her arm again.] Really, I'm just- [He sniffs, scowling and reaching up to rub at his eyes. STOP THAT, YOU'RE WORRYING ALISHA. He'd never wanted to look weak in front of her, knowing how much respect she held for the title of Shepherd.] I'm just, really, I really am so happy I know you.

... [ She can't help but smile at that. ] I'm grateful, as well. Meeting you has given me - and many other people - hope. I'm happy to call you my friend.

[And because he's always wanted to ask, but just never found a chance to...] When I first brought you to Elysia, did you think I was crazy?

... Not crazy, no. But, I did think you were certainly quite odd.

Heh heh. [Sorey grins a little.] Y'know, some of the Elysians thought you were cute.

Me? [ It's pretty strange to hear that, even now. She was known as a tomboy when she was younger and all. ] .... Thank you. I hope that someday I can thank them properly for all that they've done for me.

Why not just go up there and thank them? Even if you can't see them, they'll still hear you. Or, oh, Rose could take you!

[ There's a pause on Alisha's end - a mixed expression spreading on her face before she shows a small smile. She wants Sorey to be the one to take her back - but, in the end, she agrees partly for his sake, as well.

She doesn't know Rose well, but she has a feeling that visiting Elysia is something that they'd both want to do. ]

... That's true. Though, it feels as though I should be able to thank them face-to-face. Regardless, I'd like to go back, if they'll have me.

Of course they'll have you! [He says, like the majority of them weren't like "Um could you please remove this human already..."] Rose is the Shepherd after me, so I'm sure she'll be able to share her resonance with you long enough for you to thank them properly.

Rose is...? [ Maybe she shouldn't be so surprised. She is Sorey's Squire and all. ] ... I see. In that case, I'll be happy to visit Elysia again.

[ Though, she doesn't want to assume that Rose will take her, either. ]

Great. [Sorey smiles over at her. Admittedly, encouraging Alisha to go isn't just for her own sake either; he wants Rose to have people with her who understand the role of a Shepherd, other humans. And he wants humans to visit Elysia so his family can get used to them, and maybe one day choose to live with them again.] ...thanks, Alisha.

[ Shakes her head, offering a small smile. ] I should be the one thanking you.
