[The thought that perhaps this might be temporary has crossed Justice's mind, and it disturbs him. He does not wish to die, nor does he wish to go mad. But what option does he have? He has no right to ask someone to allow him to possess them, especially when he's not certain that this boon will run down and he'll become a danger to others. The only option he can think of is to pay attention, and if it feels like his form is becoming unstable, then he can possess the nearest inanimate object and hope that his mortal companions will come up with a solution for his problem while he's trapped there. Not a pleasant thought, but the best plan he can come up with.

Justice frowns, and to an outsider it may look like a glare, but it's really just the same expression he always uses when he's struggling to put his thoughts into words. It takes him a moment, and when he finally speaks, he speaks slowly, as if he has to think of each word before he says it.]

I believe... I have already taken much from Kristoff. It feels like... it would be wrong to take his face as well. [Yes, Justice has already taken his face, so to speak, but it's dead. Definitively dead. It doesn't look like it did when Kristoff was alive, using it to communicate with the world, to smile and laugh and love. To take his living visage feels too much like stealing his identity.] I don't want to take anything more from him than I already have.

[And there was the thoughtful, kind, friend Anders had missed so much. This was the person Anders had trusted and cared for and hoped to help as he clung to the last friend left to him in the Keep. He always knew Vengeance wasn't who he should be, that he was wrong and twisted and corrupted past his true purpose, justice mixed with hate and fury and pain. But seeing the reminder from the past made his relatively recent present all the more painful. He'd hurt his friend so deeply, this person, Justice as he is, was who deserved all the help and support Anders could offer without tainting him.]

I understand. [Easily, that old and now dusty mask of a teasing smile slipped back onto his face.] But don't be surprised if you continue to get very strange and concerned looks. At least the smell is gone, thank the Maker for that.

[Just as easily, the smirk morphed into an earnest smile as Anders' eyes raced back over Justice's face. If he didn't think it might confuse or concern the spirit, Anders would have outright hugged him for how grateful he was to see Justice.]

For what it's worth, I'm glad you're here with us. I've missed having you around.

[Justice may not have yet gotten to the point where physical affection is easy for him, but he still feels the wave of affection wafting from Anders. He doesn't quite get the specifics--his augment seems to disrupt his ability to see into minds about as much as being stuck in Kristoff's body sometimes did--but he senses the care nonetheless. It's strange to be the subject of feelings like that, but it makes him warmer all the same.

Justice smiles, or at least it's a smile by his standards, the sort that only looks like a smile when you're paying close attention and turn your head a little. But it's still a smile, and he used to never smile before meeting all these mortals.]
I am glad that you are here with me as well.

[That's a confession, coming from him. Spirits aren't usually 'glad' about someone being here or there. They may be pleased to have an ally available, but they don't form bonds the way mortals do. The way Justice now finds himself doing, now that he lives among mortals.] And I am glad to have all ten fingers again. It was beginning to get difficult to hold a sword in Kristoff's body.

[Was that a joke? Probably not, but it can be taken as one.]

End?

[Justice gives Anders a one-two punch first with the admission Justice was glad for something personal and then to follow up with something that almost sounded like humor. Whether it was or not was something else entirely, but it really didn't matter. Anders laughed.]

Can't say I understand the feeling, but good for you, I can definitely see how that would be a problem.

Come on, we should continue looking around. You can help me find things that are actually useful in all this junk.
