◉ Video + Action
Who: Clint "Hawkeye" Barton and you's all
Broadcast: Video
Action: Introductions on The Caprine, Katie-waiting on the Blameless and dog-walking aboard the Iskaulit
When: Action immediately following the shuffle, video in the days after.
Action | The SS Caprine, the SS Blameless and then the Iskaulit
[Immediately after the shuffle, Clint spends some time milling around on SS Caprine, knocking on doors or on the walls beside entranceways, poking his head in places. New ship, new faces. Does anyone on this ship play the drums at odd hours of the night? Is that a thing he should worry about? Do the kitchens have coffee? What's the space-mold situation in the corners of these space-rooms? Inquiring minds must know. Inquiring minds wearing standard-issue jump-suits.
But Clint stays off the network for a little while. Why? Because he wants to find Kate Bishop in person, first. That feels important to him -- not to settle for firing off a quick text message. After all, back home, it would be putting the situation mildly to say that they don't hang out as much as they used to. He hopes to find her still billeted on the Blameless... and... Okay. she's gone when he gets there, but Lucky is sleeping on her bed. In the Captain's room. So that answers that, and more besides. After a brief and joyful reunion with much shushing and good-boying Clint opts to knock out two birds with one stone and takes Lucky for a walk on the Iskaulit in case the Hawkeye to his Hawkeye should happen to be hanging out there.
Of course, since she's not there, he doesn't find her. And when Lucky tires Clint returns to the Blameless, again (weirdly, it feels less like trespassing to loiter here than on his own ship, and he feels less guilty drinking the coffee from Kate's kitchen than his own now that his own kitchen is on a strange ship full of strangers.) Finally, when at last he feels his welcome is being overstayed, Hawkeye retires to Kate's room to await her there.]

[In the days that follow, feel free to contact him remotely. For his part, Clint does address the fleet with a short- ]
Hey.
This is Clint Barton, here to help with all your bow-and-or-arrow based needs. I've been here before, as some of you know. It's been about ...
[He looks at his hand, and the back at the camera.]
Five months?
So, what did I miss.
((ooc: if anyone should want to incorporate/continue CR from the test drive, by all means. It would have taken place while he was walking Lucky on the Iskaulit. That's canon now!))

and when she pops into the captain's room (her room) she finds a familiar figure sitting at her vanity, his feet propped up on the table and his mitts all over her darts. an excellent throw or two have already been lodged in the board above her bed.
kate swears, colourfully, under her breath. lucky gets to his feet with a groan and comes a-wagging her way, winding briefly between her calves before taking a seat. she leans down, rubs the back of his head, and glances at the interloper. ]
...You're back. [ he remembers being here, right? he must. god, she doesn't know if that's a good or a bad thing. but if he came here, if he came looking for her? he must. ]

[He swings his feet down and stands, throwing the dart he's holding as an afterthought - to free up his hands. Triple twenty.]
Should we hug?
[There's none of the irony in his voice that she might expect - he actually lifted his arms part-way and then realized the two of them might be from radically different times, or this might not be the Kate he remembers, or something.]
You were gone a while.

[ but she decides they should hug. briefly, at least, as she closes the distance and wraps him in a very short-lived hug. they weren't much for hugging ever before, and definitely not during his stay in the fleet, but kate's made a lot of peace with his actions in his absence. she's talked the problem out.
she's prepared to feel happy at seeing him again. ]

You look...different. You sure you're Clint Barton?
[...but who else would like arrows that much?
(He hasn't met Kate yet, obviously.)]
It's not just the bandage, either.
video
[Pause while he rifles around for his Avenger card, which feels like an oddly familiar thing to do at this particular moment. He doesn't have it, though. Of course.]
Don't have the card. Okay. We know each other?

[He'd been walking fairly slowly, but even so when he stops dead it takes a moment for Lucky to notice, and the tug on his leash jerks him more than he'd probably be comfortable with. He pads over to Clint's ankles with an 'urf']

She can't help but remember the conversation she had with Kate after he left.] You missed a party. And having our heads messed with.
So call it about even?

[Clint looks a little bewildered. He rubs the right side of his face subconsciously. Although he knows this is Black Widow, it isn't his Black Widow. What a trip. He imagines that in this moment the big-brother cameras are watching his every micro-expression.]
People messing with your head huh - sucks.
[The audience probably would have got a laugh out of that. Along with his ineffective...]
You alright?
[Just give him a beat. He'll catch up soon.]

[That was probably the easiest way to track time. They seemed to encounter planets or systems or stations with a frequency that way, if not dependable or consistent, at least routine.]
There were fish-people, and some sorta disease.
[It's strange, he's had an easy enough time slipping back into relationships he'd had before, but details like this were harder. Why was that?]
Been alright?

[He might have used the guy's code-name, but this could be Billy Kaplan from basically any point in his career. And Billy's burned through a few aliases in his short time in the cape.]
When did you get here? Have you gone to see Kate? She's on the Blameless.

[He appreciated the thought though. Lucky really was as much a member of the crew as any one of them.]
Ever met 'em?

action ↠ SS Caprine
The noise seemed to be moving away, so he got up, slid his sword into its sheath and stepped out into the hall. And there he was - a new addition to the Caprine. Doudanuki raised an eyebrow and knocked on the wall in response.]
Welcome aboard, I guess. You lookin' for something?

[He gestures to his room, thankful that the guy wasn't pulling a sword or a gun on him or something. That had seemed like a possibility.]
Just doing the rounds, showing people my face. You might see me around. Be weird not to talk to each-other.

Also a little concerning since he was currently walking around with one of his cat’s on his shoulders. Hopefully this wouldn’t lead to him having cat claw marks on his face.]
[Action - Iskaulit]
Remy?
[And yet, Lucky doesn't share Clint's apprehension. He does notice the cat, lifts his nose and sniffs the air a little, but he's an old dog. His chasin' days are behind him.]

Somewhat well? I mean, I don't know a lot about her, but I like to think we're friends. Her and one of my besties are pretty close, and she's co-captain of the ship I'm on.
[He's suspicious of the dog napping bit though...]
[action]
Well, this was back home. She used to come to my apartment a lot, and Lucky got to know her pretty well. Then one day he left with her. So I guess he kinda stole himself? And she let him?
[No hard feelings though. In the grand scheme of things Clint had done way worse things to her. Or, not-done.]
Now he sort of decides whose he is by himself.

Oh. I thought it meant "old guy".
[Yup. He went there.]
But, yeah... she's mentioned the name. You share it?

[He says it through a sigh -- exasperation. His tone is 'oy vey', note for note.]
I guess we do? We haven't really talked much about it. She wears purple, shoots a bow, and if a problem comes up and needs fixing she does what I'd do - only better. That's just who she is.
[It isn't actually an easy thing to articulate. He had chosen Kate as his successor, true, but she had chosen herself for the role as well. And at basically the same time. Yes they're both active at once, but Clint doesn't really tell her what to do or encourage her to use him as a template. Much more often, Clint defers to her. The important part, of course, isn't that she shoots a bow, and it isn't that she wears purple.
It's that Hawkeye is who Kate is.]

I'd ask if that isn't betraying my co-captain, but only fair to team up against them too, right? [He isn't Keith but he can get a bit competitive too - Shiro plays to win.] I'll make sure to send you that text then. What ship did you get assign to?
