◉ Video + Action
Who: Clint "Hawkeye" Barton and you's all
Broadcast: Video
Action: Introductions on The Caprine, Katie-waiting on the Blameless and dog-walking aboard the Iskaulit
When: Action immediately following the shuffle, video in the days after.
Action | The SS Caprine, the SS Blameless and then the Iskaulit
[Immediately after the shuffle, Clint spends some time milling around on SS Caprine, knocking on doors or on the walls beside entranceways, poking his head in places. New ship, new faces. Does anyone on this ship play the drums at odd hours of the night? Is that a thing he should worry about? Do the kitchens have coffee? What's the space-mold situation in the corners of these space-rooms? Inquiring minds must know. Inquiring minds wearing standard-issue jump-suits.
But Clint stays off the network for a little while. Why? Because he wants to find Kate Bishop in person, first. That feels important to him -- not to settle for firing off a quick text message. After all, back home, it would be putting the situation mildly to say that they don't hang out as much as they used to. He hopes to find her still billeted on the Blameless... and... Okay. she's gone when he gets there, but Lucky is sleeping on her bed. In the Captain's room. So that answers that, and more besides. After a brief and joyful reunion with much shushing and good-boying Clint opts to knock out two birds with one stone and takes Lucky for a walk on the Iskaulit in case the Hawkeye to his Hawkeye should happen to be hanging out there.
Of course, since she's not there, he doesn't find her. And when Lucky tires Clint returns to the Blameless, again (weirdly, it feels less like trespassing to loiter here than on his own ship, and he feels less guilty drinking the coffee from Kate's kitchen than his own now that his own kitchen is on a strange ship full of strangers.) Finally, when at last he feels his welcome is being overstayed, Hawkeye retires to Kate's room to await her there.]

[In the days that follow, feel free to contact him remotely. For his part, Clint does address the fleet with a short- ]
Hey.
This is Clint Barton, here to help with all your bow-and-or-arrow based needs. I've been here before, as some of you know. It's been about ...
[He looks at his hand, and the back at the camera.]
Five months?
So, what did I miss.
((ooc: if anyone should want to incorporate/continue CR from the test drive, by all means. It would have taken place while he was walking Lucky on the Iskaulit. That's canon now!))

and when she pops into the captain's room (her room) she finds a familiar figure sitting at her vanity, his feet propped up on the table and his mitts all over her darts. an excellent throw or two have already been lodged in the board above her bed.
kate swears, colourfully, under her breath. lucky gets to his feet with a groan and comes a-wagging her way, winding briefly between her calves before taking a seat. she leans down, rubs the back of his head, and glances at the interloper. ]
...You're back. [ he remembers being here, right? he must. god, she doesn't know if that's a good or a bad thing. but if he came here, if he came looking for her? he must. ]
action »
[He swings his feet down and stands, throwing the dart he's holding as an afterthought - to free up his hands. Triple twenty.]
Should we hug?
[There's none of the irony in his voice that she might expect - he actually lifted his arms part-way and then realized the two of them might be from radically different times, or this might not be the Kate he remembers, or something.]
You were gone a while.
action »
[ but she decides they should hug. briefly, at least, as she closes the distance and wraps him in a very short-lived hug. they weren't much for hugging ever before, and definitely not during his stay in the fleet, but kate's made a lot of peace with his actions in his absence. she's talked the problem out.
she's prepared to feel happy at seeing him again. ]

Says us.
[The other one of us is Lucky, obvs.]
I guess it's been five months? Even longer than that for me. How much do you remember happening after my trial?
[Not "after I killed Bruce". He just doesn't want to say those words.]
action »
but she's been down this alley-way before. she knows better than to just blab. ]
Depends. How much do you remember?
action »
action »
[ sounds like he's a little further than her, for example. so she shakes her head and offers: ] I'm still in LA.
action »
[Clint returns to the dart board and reclaims his projectiles. Well. Kate's projectiles.]
I didn't remember any of this stuff when I went back home. You could have laid out the next twenty years of my life and it wouldn't have made a damn bit of difference.
[She had told him he killed Bruce. He remembers now. He didn't remember when it counted.]
I'm thinking it doesn't mean much.
action »
[ there are no kid gloves. there never needed to be. and that's half-a-relief. it's good to be honest with him. it reminds her of how things should be. ]
Don't even pretend like it didn't. I could have spared you that.
[ should have. ]
action »
You know what Kate? I would have been pissed if you hadn't tried to warn me.
[He figures that's what she'd been doing. Nothing else made sense.]
action »
[ but that's not fair, is it? she hadn't been warning him. she'd been accusing him. raking him over the coals 'cause he'd cut her out of the picture the first time around. ]
action »
It was the sort of thing that should futz us up. Both of us. It should still be futzing us up.
[It should. It is.]
action »
[ because she can read between the lines. it should, it is. he's not well, even if he's acting so. ]
action »
[This isn't the time for weird generation-Y callbacks, Kate. There's a time and place for everything, but not now.]
action »
[ HONESTLY. ]
action »
action »
action »
[He's trying. Really.]
action »
[ can you hear alla this relief? ]
action »
Hey. Reckon you can Domitian these things?
[He'd done an admirable job of changing the subject, he thought. And now he was appealing to her showmanship. A bit unfair, maybe, but given the brevity of that hug it didn't seem like they were in the right place to discuss their feelings]
action »
What, four at once?
[ she sees the attempt for what it is. she's grateful for it. and far be it from her to let it go unused. kate stands up, rolls the darts between her hands, and then holds out an empty palm. ]
Futz it. I can do five.
action »
[He knows, because four was a bad idea. He hands her the dart anyway though. If Hawkeyes balked at bad ideas they'd never get anything done.]
action »
[ she stands up. and she divides the darts between her hands -- two in one, three in the other. ]
Get out of the way, Barton.
[ she waves in his direction. would hate to take out an eye. ]
action »
Oh well. He waits until she's about to release the darts. And ever so innocently says,]
So you and Shiro room-mates in here or..?
action »
and a half-beat after they do? oh, she rounds on him. ]
What the hell do you mean, huh? [ roommates. honestly. but he tells her a lot by risking her wrath -- apparently, he's met shiro. or someone else who knows shiro. and he knows about the shared captaincy.
so, yeah, she know exactly what he means by that. ] It's not like that. My God, is it ever not like that.
[ she jabs a finger in his direction. ]
You need to try a lot harder than this to make me futz up a shot. You oughta know better.
