[Dorian looks better than he has in a few days, wandering around his borrowed bedroom and smiling pleasantly, robes wrapped around him and pants and a tunic under that. He doesn't look like an evil necromancer today, hooray!]

I would like to formally offer my services yet again to the fleet. For those of you unaware, I operate a small salon of sorts out of the Three Twins. If you have a need for your hair cut or anything else, please, for everyone's sake, let me do it.

Today is decidedly different. It's come to my attention that perhaps not all of you know how to read, and I'd like to offer my services as a private reading tutor. I can be a dreadfully patient man, and if that is something you'd like to be taught, I am more than happy to oblige.

Certainly. Are there any particular types of words you have trouble with? I assume, as your reading is adequate, that we ought to go over some of the more difficult words and word structure?

When the sounds don't match the... letters... And sometimes they look too much a like. Or the buttons on this thing are small

I am Asteffiel. I do not have a second name, but I think some others who don't take a second name use their cycle. So maybe Asteffiel of the Cycle of Dusk? ....

Well, I am Dorian of House Pavus, so that is often shortened to simply Dorian Pavus. Perhaps Asteffiel Dusk, in that case?

But siblings. Siblings are supposed to have the same second name, right? I have a sibling, but... [ And now he's trying to think, fiddling with a earring in his left ear.

And he looks more irritated with his thinking as it gets longer. ]

Sibling is not of Dusk.

Hmm, well...where are you from, in that case? I assume it's a grove of some sort? You look a bit...leafy.

[ Dorian you are clearly magic. ]

Yes! The Grove! And I am a Sylvari, which is why I am made of plants.

I see. Curious! So you're like a sentient plant, then? Or is it a being that is covered in plants? If you don't mind my asking. And how exactly did you come out of this grove? Were you grown? Marvelous!

[ So many questions! Here's hoping he remembers them all- ]

I am all plant! But not any one plant, like I am not just.. maple? [ ... That should be a bit obvious, there are very few purple plants... ]

The Grove is our city! We built it under and about Mother, who is the pale tree! We wake up from pods.

[How curious! He tries to contain himself to one question.]

So you're more a...symbiotic being, many plants?

The way we grow clothes, yes? [ He plucks at one of the petals of his sleeves. ]

Remarkable. Ah- do you have any magical ability? I do wonder, if perhaps you're more like a spirit possessing a plant being but...I suppose that's much like saying I am a spirit possessing a human body, it's really more semantics.

Magic? Yes! I am a necromancer!

[ He has to think about that it. ]

I don't think Sylvari leave ghosts. Humans leave ghosts.

[Dorian completely misses that last part because he's so excited. Everyone else here had looked down on his magic, but to find another necromancer...it was almost too good to be true.

His face lights up, and he smiles.]

A necromancer, truly? I am one, as well! I assume the nuances are different in your world, but yes! I haven't met another necromancer in some time, certainly not since my arrival. You'll have to show me sometime, we can exchange notes, that sort of thing.

That makes sense. [ If other worlds don't have sylvari, then necromancers there probably work differently too. ]

Yes! Although I think some of the things I do work better on a planet? One of them doesn't work in water, I don't know if it will work in space...

[He nods.]

Next time we land, we'll have to meet, and I can take a look. I'm terribly, dreadfully interested in seeing what you can do.
